YAWN!

Almost a week gone by and I didn't even notice it. Me and my Mom haven't done much of anything this week. She has been busy doing house stuff, and I have just been hanging out in the yard, watching things go by. I sure miss Spencer. We had a lot of fun together.

She is getting me the Gentle Leader for walkies. She says until it comes she isn't going ANYWHERE with me. Too bad, I just can't help it, I just like to sniff everything and if I have to dart around to do it, I guess I will. She says I better not with the new Leader! Whoooo, threats!

The other night when she eats her supper in front of the TV (gotta get the news, y'know), I just carried my bowl in from the kitchen and parked right next to her. I thought it was nice of me to keep her company, but she just laughed and moved my bowl back. Ah well, we are still getting used to each other.

Big Snow!

On Sunday we got big snow and our backyard is full of it. Me and Spencer had a good time running circles in it and sticking our snouts in it, too! It was very much fun!

Dannan asked me if I saw snow before and my Mom said she is sure I must have since I am two years old. But I don't rember it!

Some sad news: Spencer had to go home with his Dad tonight. He is a nice boy and I am callin' him my boyfriend. My Mom told his Dad that he is a good boy and can come back anytime. So maybe pretty soon!

Fun in the Sun!

Spencer and I had a very special time today, right in our own backyard! It was warmish and sunny all day long and we ran, played ball and even snoozed in the sun.

My Mom scolded me for bugging Spencer all the time, and she says he is a lot older than me and not so wild. I told her that I was in the slammer for a long time and didn't have nobody to play with and so now I'm playin' period and he better get used to it! She said we'll see about that, and he might get mad and bite my nose, but I said maybe it would be a kiss.

I think I love Spencer, even if he is older and a little grumpy. My Mom says its sposed to snow tomorrow . . .can you believe that?

A Reward!

Look what I got from my pal Dannon . . .A Golden Paw reward. Dannon got it and just gave it to me. Now is that nice, or what? Thanks and thanks again, Dannon, you are very special!

Spencer came last night and whoooah, what a surprise! Remember the picture I put up yesterday of a Very Overweight Dog? Spencer came in the door all slim and trim and looking like a pup! Spencer is 9 years old and his Dad rescuedated him seven years ago. I am taking some pictures, but it will take a while because my Mom won't buy me a digital, and we have to have them develiped. Patience, patience!

But its another rainy day and neither Spence or me wants to go outside. My Mom won't hardly let us play inside either, so we are just layin' around waiting for the sun to come out.

I hope its nicer where you are!

Got That Rainy Day Feelin' Again!

But even though my Mom knows I hate to go out in the rain, when we get up in the morning, SHE MAKES ME GO OUTSIDE . She says, go pee and hurry! What she doesn't know is that I could hold it for about five hours if she would just leave me alone, but NOOOOOO, gotta go outside this minite. Its something we will disagree about forever I guess, but I am the one who winds up WET!


Oh, I have some exciting news! My friend Spencer the lab is coming for the weekend. I hope it is nice out so we can chase each other around the yard! That would be fun and we could snooze together too. This will be perfect! Here is a picture of that handsome Spencer guy. He is older than me by maybe 10 years, but he is very nice! We look a lot alike but he is tubby!

My Mom did get a letter from the Sporn Company but the suggestions they made were things we already tried, so we are sending the halter back. Mom is looking on the 'net for other no pulls, but so far she likes the one Khrya said to try, the Bona Fido. I told her I am a strong dog and if I need to pull, I'm probly gonna do it. She just gave me a dirty look. I think today is a good day to stay in bed.

Walkin' my Mom

Mom says she is not happy with the new Sporn halter and wrote to the company about it. We will have to see what the answer is. Thanks to Ben, Dannan, and Joe Stains for their good words.

I'm sorry to say my Mom has a cold and hasn't felt well for a few days but today she felt better. I wanted to go out bad and maybe I was a little rowdier than usual, but we walked around the block and then she snorted, coff, coff,"lets go home and play a little ball". So we did and had some fun in our own back yard.

I will keep you up on the torture device, and see what she finds for me next. I don't want to tell her this, but it might be good for her to move a little faster!

I Got a Box in the Mail!

What a nifty thing! A box with a present for me! My Mom says its actually for HER because its a Halter that presents me from pulling when we go for a walk.

We took it on a trial run tonight and Mom said it works quite well. She said now if there was something that stopped me from weaving that would be fine too. She was only joking though about that. She just gives the leash a little flip to remind me to stay over on my side of the side walk.

She says after we practice some we will get better at this! Ah, who knows?

New Frenz!!

Wooo! Joe Stain's mom put our address on Joe's blog and we got some letters from other
dog bloggers. What a neat thing. Big thanks to Joe, Dannan and MJ's Doghouse! Makes me feel very happy and good.

My mom, who is otherwise a good person, is a rookie blogger, so she will accept any advice any of you long time bloggers have to offer.

I am a little nervous too, in that she stopped at the liberry and got a book by Cesar the Dog Whisperer about being Pack Leader. It will be OK if she Whispers, I guess. If Dannan can jump, I should be able to also!!! She also got a Yella frizbee from the Shoe Shop. That is fun, fun, fun!

Whatta rainy day today! Poured down all day long and there isn't much in this world I hate as much as a downpour . . .my coat is wet, my feet are soaked, and my Mom doesn't like it either.

My Mom got a letter today about working together to create a special day on October 3, 2009 to call National Animal Rescue Day, a day to think about animals who are in shelters and need a home, and Adopting Them. I can tell you that is a very good thing! I was in a shelter for 90 days (my mom calls it the Slammer) and while I got good care there, lots of animals aren't nearly so lucky.
So here is a place to sign a petishun that will go to our Representatives in Washington and maybe they will name the day. Wouldn't that be the best thing?

Youch!

Nancy, my friend from the slammer, came to take out my operashun stitching! She and my Mom held me down and I tried my best to fight them, because who knew what they were doing holding me down like that. I mean, I love them both, and mostly trust them, but this was not a good thing!
So finally, they wore me out, and I let them have their way with me. They pulled out the stitching, and said it was a good thing. I guess it was, because those stitchings were itching me and now it feels better.

What an adventure THAT was!

I told my Mom I didn't like the slammer picture of me up there because I am way prettier than that now, with my hair all groomed and styled. She said she would get another picture and put it up pretty soon.

This is me, I am Stella. This was taken when I was in the slammer for being a dog on the loose. I was in there, for 90 days, for doing nothing worse than being out on the road, just bumming around. I didn't have nobody to love me or take care of me. I am two years old and have lots of energy so life in a cage got me down pretty much. THEN, my new mom came along and adoptinated me, and after I had an operashun, she took me home. She says I have some pretty rough ways, and is trying to help me not jump up on people. She says its rood.
I also like to go faster for walks and kind of pull on the leash and she doesn't like that either. But she says she loves me, and feeds me good, and lets me sleep ON HER BED! Woooo! Thats the best!
As we have some adventures, I will tell you about them. I feel good and happy these days to have a home and someone to love me . . .wouldn't you?
