Getting Over Bertie!

As some of you know, I was totally against going on Bertie's expedition because I don't like the cold, wet weather of Scotland.  But he forced me to come.  Then when I asked for a warm woolie blanket, he went quite beserk, and left me at Inverness Airport all by myself.  But let me tell you, it turned out far better than I ever thought possible.

At the airport, I was just sitting, wondering where to go or what to do, when this very handsome man approached me.  He said you look lonely and a little frightened, can I help you in any way?
My name is George Clooney and my private jet is taking me to New York.  Can we drop you off somewhere?  Of course, I knew immediately who he was since his face appears on my Mom's movies very frequently.  I told him the whole story, all about Bertie and what he did to me.  Then I said if its not too much trouble I live in Minnesota!  He said no trouble at all and began to laugh.  He said I am only laughing at the little mutt who did this to you.  I hope he grows up to be a better dog than that, don't you?

Then he took me out for a nice lunch and we  went to board his jet.  It was a lovely evening and the jet looked so beautiful.  We curled up in a nice cushy seat and HE was happy to provide me with a nice wool blanket.  He said he really missed having a dog, especially at Holiday time.  He said perhaps we could ask your Mom if you and she will come to my estate at Lake Como in Italy for Christmas.  A couple of weeks of milder temps might just be the ticket for both of you.  You are such a sweet girl it will be a pleasure to have you join my family and friends at that happy time.

You can just imagine what a happy moment that was for me!  When we got to Minnesota, he got a car and drove me home from our landing.  My Mom was delighted and of course said YES! to this offer of Christmas in Italy.  So everything is arranged and what, I have that little brat Bertie to thank for it!

So, please, no more poor Stella from anybody!  You know what they say, one door closes and another opens up.

Stella, the world traveller!

As Julie Andrews so aptly put it in The Sound of Music, "when God closes a door, he opens a window". And did he ever open a window for you!!

Stella, here is a message for your Mom from ours. Jo cannot possibly travel all the way to Italy alone. She must let the Momster come along too. Mom will even bring along Phantom so your Mom can meet her favorite boy dog.

So. Would you call that serendipity? Whatever you call it ... you seem really set for a remarkably good holly day.

Dear Stella,
Gail has warned me about fantasists like yourself. George Clooney at Inverness Airport. Give me a break! And you spending Christmas at Lake Como is about as likely as, well, as Mango being mistaken for a chihuahua.
Toodle pip!
PS We're having a simply wonderful trip without you anyway. So there.

PS I don't know why Gail is laughing so much at your post. I see nothing funny in it at all...

Stella - You showed 'em after they left you at the airport. You had a much better adventure than the rest of them. Perhaps you'd like company at Christmas? A couple of labs are available!
