As most of you know, Frankie is sponsoring this Name Game and he wants us to tell how we got our names.
Mine is actually pretty boring. When my Mom found me at the Shelter, the staff there had given me the name Sasha, but my Mom just didn't feel like it suited me at all. So while I was off having my operashun, she was thinking about a new name for me. When I got home, she said, HELLO STELLA, do you like your new name? She said Stella is the Italian word for Star and that I was gonna be her star girl. I loved the name and I still do. I am happy to be Stella and happy to be my Mom's star!
We also have our cat, a muted tortie, who used to be named Allison. Since my Mom thinks cats should have exotic names, Allison had to go. She renamed her Ali Zophia. Then, just recently, her furry good friend, Khyra, renamed her Zkhat. We all liked that, and now we call her Zkhat all the time.
So there you have it, our names and how we got them!

When I was a little girl, maybe 4 or 5 (1942-43) I often had to share my room and a bed with my Mom's younger sisters. Because of this, I learned songs like Stella by Starlight, Body and Soul, Lullabye of Broadway, and many others, at a very early age. I can still sing most of them, and do sing Stella by Starlight to my girlie. Thanks for making me think of it and I put two versions on my Play List. Nice to pass these around, Whitney and Tallulah!

Ali Zophia or Zkhat. Funny how with cats it doesn't really matter much what you call them, they don't pay any attention to you anyway.
I had one cat who would meow every time you said his name. I could carry on a conversation and as long as I threw his name in every now and then, he'd answer.

Hi Stella! I don't think your name-story is boring. It is a lovely name! I have a small friend also called Stella. She also studies in my therapy-dog-class. That name seems to suit both of you. And it was sure lucky that the human you rescued understood that your name was Stella, not Sacha. It is not funny when people dont understand what your real name is.
