Bright Sunny Saturday!

Hi Evfurry Buddy!  Its Jo here.  I am getting a little tired talking about my knee so I am here to tell you its doing very well.  I am down to a couple of hits of Extra Strength Tylenol a day, doing PT 3 x a week, and up and doing.  Amen!

What I want to share with you is a couple of cooking blogs I just love.  One I found at Rocky Creek Scotties and its called Mennonite Girls Can Cook .  Now, I am not much of a cook anymore, do very little cooking in fact, but I still love to read and look at recipes and these girls really can cook.  You will find old things, new things, all from scratch.  They are very charitable and as a group support a goodly number of community needs without asking you to.

The second one is Orangette  and I just love her because she is always looking for the "perfect" waffle, or cornbread or cake, and she makes it so much fun to read along with her on her discoveries.  She wrote a terrific book a while back called A Homemade Life: Stories from my Kitchen Table and her name is Molly Wizenberg.  She and her husband recently opened a restaurant in Seattle, called Delancey's and she talks about that sometimes.  If you haven't looked at either of these, if you like recipes and heartfelt stories, you would love them both.

Thats all from me, today, lets see what Stella has to say.

Hi there, Stella here!  We have not been doing such a good job of getting around to all the blogs we like to read, but as time goes on we will do better, I think.  I was out with my best pal Lori this week for several nice walkies, and we really have a good time together.  I am so glad she came along to be my pal!
The weather has been furry, furry nice, and we haven't even had any bad storms but it doesn't matter because now I got my Storm Shirt and it really works good for me.    I am glad Molly and Joe Stains tested these out so we felt pretty sure they would work for me too.

We were sorry to lose Max this week but it had to happen.  He was such a nice boy.  I don't know much these days.  Our tourist town is starting to fill up for the summer.  We have 425 Lakes in our County so we have lots of places for people to go swim and fish.  Why don't YOU come?

Hullo, its Ali Zophia here for a little bit.  I don't know why anyone would want to come here. Its a very boring place when all you can do is swim and fish, I don't care to do either of those things.  We all hope all is well with you, wherever you are and that you are enjoying the flowers and things that grow.

Kisses, and hugs,

Jo,  Stella and Ali Zophia

I just love Ali Zophia's outlook on life. Sometimes you just want to grumble. Animals do it so much better then humans do.

Have a wonderful long weekend. We'd like to come swim in those lakes with you.

Good to hear your recovery is moving forward!
I love discovering new blogs, and although i don't cook much either, I still like to ferret away recipes, just in case!
Oh! and no, I absolutely can not keep the Berner Boy, no matter how deeply he has wormed his way into my heart.

Thanks for the cooking blog tips. I'll have to check those out. Ali Z, You don't like fishing?! I thought all cats liked to fish...

Stella, so glad you're making it through those storms with your cool shirt. And you're one lucky pup to have friends take you for walkies. Kona says she'd like to come visit one of your lakes, as long as there aren't any foxtails around. She really likes water, but not stickers.

Hi Stella
Oh I would so love to come and visit and meet you and Jo and even Ali Z, and see all those lakes. Gail tells me that Hamish was always sweet on you, so I know you must be especially nice, even if rather old. (Oh, is that rude, I am so sorry, I am not yet 4 months old and I still make so many mistakes).
Toodle pip!

Stella! We just skipped right over that cooking part as there are no humans here who are kitchen safe. But nice to hear from you and that things are going OK at your estate. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Hi Guys, we will check out the cooking blogs.
Glad to know you are all doing OK over there.
The knee will take it's time - it is a strange thing with humans - when one part of them is being repaired they forget about all the other parts that are working fine!!!
Seriously we hope you can lay off the painkillers soon.

That's a wonderful report from you, Jo. So good to hear that the knee is doing what it is supposed to do and that you are feeling less discomfort.

Mom isn't much of a cook either, but she does enjoy looking for new ideas. We will have to check out those two blogs - even though she says we really don't need two more blogs:(

Stella, it sounds like you have made a good friend in Lori. We think we have storms coming in tonight because Phantom has been acting up again- he is in hiding in his crate.

Ali Z., we think you have to get out more, you sound like you need some fresh air and a good pick-me-up.

Enjoy the weekend.

Stella!
I wanted to say a big thank you for the book you gave us last year for your birthday contest!
I didn't have too much interest in holistic medicine before, but lately Darwin's been having a lot of problems with her back, that we haven't been able to get a straight diagnosis for and we may need to look into acupuncture. The neurologist even mentioned Dr. Kelleher, the author of the book!
So Ive started reading it (almost done) and totally think she can help Darwin and her mystery ailment.
Anyway, thank you again for this book! Turned out to be the best gift ever!
