Its Me, Ali Z!

Hi all you Kitties and Pups!

Thanks for the nice response to my last blog!  Stella , wants me to tell you that tomorrow is her friend Beckett's Second Gotcha Day, the day he rescued his Mom.  She hopes every body that reads this will go to his blog and give him a Happy Gotcha Day and pass it on!

Just a few letters this week.  Lets start with Hamish Westie and his friend Joe Stains  who didn't seem to read my advice about eating cat poo.  I told them it was nutritious, and they seem to be all set to go out looking for some, but what they may not have read was that it is dangerous to eat this stuff. My words were:
But, Joe, don't get the idea that this is OK for you to do, because it isn't. Poop can contain many parasites, including giardia, coccidia, roundworms and whipworms. Also clumping litter can cause you serious health problems. So its best just to ask your Mom for extra protein and FORGET the Cat Poo!   Got it, you guys?

The Thundering Herd is next asking why their hu-dad insisted on leaving the windows in the Jeep last weekend as we went on our adventures?  We mean, the weather was perfect--snowing and single digit (F) temps.  Hmmmm, you guys, the only reason I could think of is he didn't want to mess his hair up with the wind blowing through it.  Or maybe he didn't want to catch a cold.  I don't know, you guys know him better than I do.  Thanks for writing though.

Martha and Bailey, those Scottish Deer Hunters, wrote and told me they thought I was too smart for a cat and wondered if I am not a Dog in disguise?
Ah, I wonder if you could be joking . . .are you joking with me?  If not, your statement is upsetting on so many levels its even hard to think about it.  No, its gotta be a joke, very funny, Bassets!  Don't trip over your ears laughing at it!

Ludo van Doggy, our friend from England, wrote and said he didn't eat cat poo, he just picked it up and left it in his Grandparent's room on the floor.  He wonders why they shout at him over this.  Oh, Ludo, I think it would be best if you left the cat poo in the litter tray, because if the grandparents get upset, why do it? You are a smart guy, you ought to know better, but maybe you need a job, like fetching the paper or your grandpa's slippers.  See if you can't find something else to do.
One more question from Ludo about Faline, one of his Rabbit Dogs.  She is like me, she doesn't like being sniffed by a wet nose dog and to be quite honest, Ludo, I doubt she will ever like you very much.  At least until you quit sniffing her and I know you dogs do like to sniff every body.  In the world of cats and rabbits, its considered rude.  I know you are a very good friend of Stella's so I don't want to hurt your feelings, she would be very upset if I did.  OK, Ludo?

One last letter from Mango, who thinks his Mom is trying to electrocute him.  It seems as though every time she touches him lately there is a big spark and he wants to know why.  This is all about static electricity, Mango,  which happens in the winter when we heat our homes and the air gets dry. When my Mom pets me in a dark room you can sometimes see a tiny, tiny spark, never a big one.  Were you exaggerating just a little?  Talk to the Master about getting some moisture into your home and thanks for writing.

Thanks to all for writing and send me your questions before next Tuesday!

Meow, meow,

Ali Zophia

Dexter here. I have a question. I like to be up high and jump on top of anything I can find. Momma thinks I am part cat. Do you think this is possible?

Kisses,
Dexter

Hey there Ali-Z and Stella
Thanks for the fun blogpost - as well as all the 'facty' things from the previous blog. Sorry we haven't commented lately: mom has had her hands full, so our computer time is rationed. Can you perhaps explain that?
I have another question....there seem to be an increased number of cats around our neighbourhood lately...why?...it's inexplicable!
Anyway, we wanted to send lots of love to you all and to tell you that we haven't forgotten you. Hope you all keep warm and happy. See you around bloggie-land.

Great questions, great answers, Ali Z. You really are incredibly wise. I have a new question too - this is from my sis, Ozzie: In the evening, when I come in for the night, I allow Big Golden Dog to actually sniff me around my head and upper back and neck. Then I often rub against her legs, weaving in and out of them. (
Can you imagine???) We only partake of these rituals in the evening, as if we're saying some sort of hello after the long day apart from each other. Now normally, I don't like that dog getting near me. Can you explain this We also tend to respect each others' sleeping places and naps themselves. Furry weird.
Hugs xo
Ozzie (and Sammie too)

Ali Z,

Can you talk to my dog K about how dangerous a 200 lb mountain lion is? She keeps telling me that the lion is no more scary than Ali Z! Can you straighten her out?

Thank you,
KB

Ali and Stella, thank woo so much fur the lovely compliment you left me. I'd never been called "incorrigible" before, seems I keep collecting compliments left and right.

So Ali, does the ban on poo eating only involve kitty crunchies? Because mom got upset wiff me the other day from eating rabbit poo. I couldn't help it - it was sitting on top of the snow like caviar on ice!!! And you know how I luv the finer things in life...

Luv,
Cloud

I bet you're onto something with The Herd's dad's hair. My mom is always worried about her hair and won't drive with the windows down.

Ali Z, I'm having boyfriend issues. A while back, I fell in love with a RH furiend but he's too busy with his life for lil' me. He's super, I tell you. He's enormous, he can fit pairs of shoes on his back, he meditates, but he won't pay any attention to me. Is there anything I can do about it?

Ali Z, you are just too funny! When our mum had Mouschi, cat now in heaven, and Harry, basset now in heaven, she tells us that Harry was always eating cat poo!
In fact it was too high in protein for us dogs and apparenly poor old Harry's kidneys suffered in the end! Mum had never considered all those other hazards!
We will be careful about tripping over our ears......
Bailey, we reckon, is a cat masquerading as a dog.
She likes to curl up and almost purrs....chases birds......plumps up her bed etc.
love you lots
