Snooter Report!

This is kind of what I look like this evening.  The Doc and her assistant first gave me the good news that they got all of the skin cancer, then they put a large pressure bandage over the owie (bigger and more than you see above) which I have to leave on until late tomorrow.  Then its just following aftercare orders and going back to check on the healing in a month.

The only thing that hurt was the first two novocaine shots, but it feels like it is getting a little sore now.  Anyone who is interested can Google for Mohs Surgery and find out all about it.  Me, I am going to look for the ultra strength Tylenol!

Thanks for your well wishes, I know they helped!  By the way, my daughter-in-law was with me (she is a blessing  in my life), the Doctor (a very hip lady) and her assistant (another very fun person) and not one of them knew who I was talking about when I said I thought I looked like the person in the picture above and the name of the movie.  I hope some of you guys know, or I'm gonna feel all alone. Who and what???

When I came home Stella was not sure I was who I said I was, so I let her sniff my bandage and my face and I guess I passed muster with her.

Cheers and hugs,
Jo

Ah, you guys! I thought everyone would know, by just looking at the picture, that is Jack Nicholson in Chinatown, one of my very favorite movies. If you haven't seen it, and it seems like it is off the radar for a lot of people, Netflix will send it to you and you will have a great time watching, Jack, Faye Dunaway, John Huston (Angelica and Danny's father) and some LA intrigue of the '30s.

Yeah, I am a big movie fan!

Cheers,
Jo

Hi Stella's Mom
So pleased to hear that the surgery went well, but we expect that the snooter will be sore for a while yet, and we suggest that an investment in ultra strength painkillers will be worthwhile.
Did you know that I had a lump removed from my snooter many years ago? If you look close at pictures of my face, you can still see a bit of a scar, leading off my snout up up towards my right eye. I feel it adds character to my appearance! But I am sure that American doctors are better than Scottish vets when it comes to hiding their cuts!
The lump never came back, and I hope yours won't either.
Cheers, H.
PS Please tell Stella that she looks super-duper cute with those Christmas ribbons on her ears!

My granny had a similar thing done and they put some of her cheek skin over her nose, but you can't even tell. Enjoy looking fierce and scary! Then enjoy being cancer free, right?
