Joe Stains is the guy who got me blogging! He was more fun than a party, full of mischief, rude commentary (mostly directed at his little brother Doofus), and got away with everything! He was a rabid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Yankees. He loved to watch the games with his Dad and his Mom.
The only thing that scared him was thunder and lightening!
When my Mom was one year old, about 87 million years ago, her Grandpa gave her a Boston Terrier puppy which got named Stubby.
This dog (in days before leash laws) went everywhere my Mom went, followed her Dad every chance he got, and would go into a tavern, sit in a booth with some old guys and drink beer out of an ashtray. He always found his way back home!
Like Joe Stains, everybody in our small town knew him and loved him.
In his spare time, he liked to chase cars and small airplanes.
When he was 11 andMom was 12, one of those cars finally won, hitting him and killing him instantly.
So when my Mom first read one of Joe's blogs, it made her think of her first canine pal Stubby, and each one she read made her laugh, cry, shake her head. So now she has lost her two favorite Bostons,
and it ain't easy.
Condolences to Joe's Mom and Dad, and all the people like me who thought he was just the Berries!
Kisses,
Stella, her Mom and Ali Zophia

We all loved Joey too - he was such a great guy. So sad that he has to cross, but can you just imagine the fun he is creating across the bridge? Bet all our angel furries welcomed him with a great big cheer.
Soft woos to his family and poor Tanner.

What a lovely tribute to your friend. Remember that he made you laugh and smile...let that be his legacy...not the pain of his loss. Soft White Dog woos of comfort.

Oh I just don't know what I'm going to do without Joe Stains' blog to read! He is the reason I signed up on Blogger. I remember when his bloggerpeeps quit posting everyday and Joe said it was because he had a Tuna growing. That's when I found you, Stella, to keep me company when Joe and Tanner were offline. I am so glad we found you but we are going to miss that Joe Stains like the flowers here in Texas are missing the rain! I sure hope Tanner keeps blogging; he's a funny guy too. I have to go find some Klenex now!
You did our little buddy proud:-)
Oh dear, sad news again. We didn't know Joe Stains well, but we heard enough about him to realise what a character he was. Well done Stella for your kind tribute.
He will be missed for sure!
Sorry we have been away for a while...we're been trying to get Buddy back on his feet, literally!

Thank you for this wonderful tribute. You have always been a big fan of Joe and we have appreciated every single comment and email. He is watching over all of us now, probably still making rude comments, we just can't hear them anymore :)
We sure miss the little guy. No doubt causing a rumble over that Rainbow Bridge.
Slobbers,
