Workin'

My Mom is working doing a lot of house stuff, like throwing stuff away and cleaning things, and moving things.  Do I need to tell you how crabby this makes her?

She did take a few pictures of some growing things outside.  She says the perennials are her favorite things because even if it stays chilly (like now, its almost noon time and only 54 degrees), they come up nice and green.  Even one of them has some flowers on it.  Thats the first picture, its Sweet Woodruff and it smells very nice, the flowers are so tiny!

This has flowers too but they are short lived.  This is a flowering crab and my Mom meant to get pictures of it in its prime but she missed it.   We love this tree because it gets little red berries on it and we thought the birds would eat them right away, but they don't!  They leave the berries sit all summer, fall and winter, and then, in the spring loads and loads of birds come and eat these berries.  Robins, cedar waxwings, bigger birds that hope its gonna warm up, just fill up on these. We have seen the tree covered with a whole flock of birds.  We love it.

This is a lupine.  It gets flowers on it and it wants warm weather to do that. Good luck, Lupine.

We are the original No News Family I guess.  My Mom says she wants to take time to make a few blankets for Tank and the dogs of Joplin, MO .  We are sad for all the people there who have lost their homes and pets who have been separated from their families.  One thing you can do is visit Tank's blog
and send a blanket to Joplin.  Lots of other things too, just Google for Joplin Relief .

Kisses,

Stella and Crabby Appleton

Our Mom gets crabby just thinking about cleaning. She's sure she was supposed to have been born a Rockefeller so she could hire someone to do that stuff.

Thanks for sending people over to Tank's site. The poor scared pups and kitties in Joplin need all the help they can get.

OUr Mom has lots of work she should be doing too, but she keeps putting it off. We bet it would make her crabby too.

We love that sweet woodruff - wish we could smell it too.

Those pups will love your blankets. Ciara still has hers and it is in perfect condition. Mom is sending some to Joplin too.

A 12-paw salute to your mom, Stella! You have no idea the work that our mom is avoiding! Her home office is slowly overtaking her desk. It's pretty frightening. We sent some blankets to Joplin this morning.

Once again, we enjoyed your music. Today it wasLeon Russell. OK there's Leonard. We have to download it right now!!

Hi Y'all,

Love your beautiful flowering plants and trees. My Humans do much of their gardening "for the birds".

Y'all come by now,

Hi Stella
To bad that your Mom is crabby. Tell you what, why not offer to lend a hand with the house stuff? I'm sure she'd appreciate that. For example, if she's not certain whether or not to throw away, say, some ancient article of clothing, then if you chew it some, and tug it about a bit, then you will surely have helped her make the decision.

PS Those flowers are so pretty.
PPS We thought we had a bad storm here earlier in the week. Then we heard about those poor folk in Joplin.

Stella!
I wonder why they do that cleaning thing all the time if it makes them crabby! Hmmm....
Those flowers are so delicate and beautiful!
Take care

I get crabby too when I have to do stuff like cleaning up and throwing things away. Very crabby. I try to do just a little at a time to keep my crabbiness to a minimum.

Your flowers are gorgeous. Springtime has truly sprung there so your mum must be doing spring cleaning!

Making blankets sounds like a fun project!

Hi Stella & Ali! Thanks for stopping by my blog! To answer your question: Outside animals are usually not allowed in my library, but mostly because we worry about me getting Fleas. But sometimes we have animal programs, where reindeers and woofies and Guinea pigs (snacks!) can visit for special occasions. And we do have one customer who is known to bring baby kittens in, tucked inside his shirt. (The staff "pretends" they don't see the kittens, AFTER much petting and squeeing.)

Spring Cleaning is such a strange human tradition...they never seem happy about it but they keep at it...go figure!

Your flowering shrubs are lovely and the thought of the birds covering the branches to eat the berries makes us smile.

Your mom is very special to make blankets and Tank's Project is brilliant. Our momma is not as clever as yours so we sent so other stuff.

We love the news that comes from your corner of the world...it is like sitting down in the kitchen together and sharing a cup of tea. Very comforting and soothing.
