Water, water everywhere!

Hi all you pups, kitties and pawrents!

So, Mr. Reilly, over at Cowspotdog is having a fun contest! Because of all the rain and wet weather they've been having at his house, he and his mom decided to do a contest about why you LOVE to get wet or why you HATE to get wet. All the rules are posted here. The winner will receive a box of his mom's beautiful hand-made cards AND other goodies!! How could you not enter?!?

Since I, Stella, am half Labrador, I should love the water, right?  I don't love it when it is falling out of the sky, when it gets the grass all wet and comes up between my toes.  Then there is also Thunder and lightening to contend with in this scenario!

But here is where I do love it.  In Minnesota you will find lakes all over the place, and this one is Mine.

Pretty, isn't it?  I love to go out deep as I can in it and swim around and around.  All I need is my four big feets and my tail to steer me around!

Then, after some of that, I like to come in to shallower water and just shake it all over everything, like this:

The more little kids around to squeal, the better I like it!  If you think this isn't fun, you got another think comin'!

Then I come up on shore and just dry off a little before I go back for more, like this:

Now, don't let it rain on me, OK, bring me in of doors right away when that happens, But take me to the Lake anytime you can!  You come too!

Kisses,
Stella

Stella, we have never been near any body of water so we don't know if we would like it or not. But Ciara and Thunder do LOVE the rain, they could sit out there all day long. Phantom is not the same, he goes out long enough to take care of business and then comes right back in.

Good luck in Reilly's contest. We have been working on something here but so far it isn't working out right.

Happy Mother's Day!

LOL - that is funny! Sam likes the rain but hates the deep water.

That picture where you are shaking water off is great!

You make a quite convincing case for swimming in the lake. The shaking it all over little kids sounds like really good fun. Personally, I have never been convinced of the attraction of leaping into water, although there is plenty around here in Scotland. But after reading this I am having a rethink.

PS So sorry you were upset by my comments in my blog. Remember it was only a 'thought experiment'. And you do look most svelte in those photos. Can we please be friends again?

This looks like a contest we should enter, after all our middle name is WATER. But our Mom is too lazy to help us get our entry together. She says it's because Samba got her up six times during the night, but we think she's just got other things she wants t do.

Wow we are amazed you just love the water, like Pip.

I like to get in the shower. Does that count? Not when it is running, though. Teddy the moron likes to get in the dishwasher, as you can see from today's blog. He also goes out in the rain.

Stella, I would love to go to the Lake with you, but I will guard the picnic lunch while you swim, OK? I prefer to keep my floof high and dry.

oh Stella, that sounds like such good fun. I never used to like the water but now I is big and brave and it just about my favouritist thing!
