Weather (wintery), flooding (profuse)

Here are a few pictures of the flooding in North Dakota.  These folks are very hard working people who have spent leisure time filling sandbags for the last few months until they had a surplus.

Sadly, we got lots of snow yesterday we didn't need to further the amount of water running.

I am 50 miles west of the flooded area, so it doesn't affect me, but my heart goes out to these folks.  If you want to know more about it all, Google for Fargo flood 2011, check out the Weather Channel and say some prayers everybody makes it through it all.  Its cold, wet and caring for children, pets, farm animals is most difficult.

If you wish to help with a donation, the Red Cross is already working in the area.  The public can help people affected by disasters like floods by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. On those rare occasions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters. Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for disasters and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of all disasters. Call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish). Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund may be sent to your local American Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013. Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting redcross.org.

Good wishes,

We are sorry you are having more snow although you know we sibes would love it here.

Mom is very much afraid of flooding. Luckily we have never had to deal with that, but never say never. We have our paws crossed for all those affected by this flooding and hope it really doesn't get any worse.

It's been rough weather for lots of folks this year. I hope this is the last snow you have to deal with this year. Time for warm, breezy days to settle in.

Mother Nature has been cruel lately to so many people. We have spent a day with tornado warnings and flooding here along with very high winds. It is very scary and my prayers go out to the ones that been hit by these storms. Thanks for posting the information. Lots of love, Holly and mom

This breaks our heart, knowing what these people are dealing with. There are enough challenges in life ... Mother Nature's toll makes it even harder.

We know they'll pull through ... they are tough people in North Dakota. But the price is huge. We'll be keeping them (and you) in our thoughts and prayers, and do what we can to help.

Hi Stella! thank you for sharing this with us. It gives me something to think about, we're always wishing we had snow and cool weather here but we should be grateful that we dont have natural disasters here in Singapore..
We'll keep our paws and fingers crossed and send our prayers for the people there.

Cheers,
Maxx and mommy

East of us is reeling from tornados over the last day and flooding from the heavy rains. Fortunately, our area came through without any real issues.

That's terrible. The photos are horrific. I am thinking of those people and animals, hoping that the waters recede soon.
