Hi Pups and Kits!
First of all my Mom got me ready to take a picture in the Thundershirt. She got three good ones, but when she went to transfer from camera to computer, it was no go! What do you spose is wrong there, my Mom wonders. So she will have to see what she can find out. We just have a little Fuji Film FinepixJ12, nothing expensive or fancy. Any of you have this problem?
So I found some pix for you from Google:
Here is one on a Goldie:
and here is one on a poodle-type:
Here is a website where you can learn more about things: like how they are sized and all. You can get one for the tiniest dog or the biggest. Some of the guys that I know wear them. Like Joe Stains was the first dog to have one that I knew about, then there is Darwin the Great Dane, Molly the Tibetan Terrier. I should tell you about how mine was when I first got it. I didn't like it or want it at all. My Mom forsed me to wear it and it was better, but I still avoided it. So she just put it up for a while, then winter came and we didn't need it. So the other day she saw the rain and me getting shakey. She said "Do you want to put on your Thundershirt" and I did. She keeps the neck part closed up, so I just poke my head through that and she fastens the two other velcro spots and I'm feeling pretty good. This was not a violent storm we had, just a little thunderboomer and some rain, but I think I am hooked on the shirt now. Doubt I will turn it down anymore.
Some others have different solutions, one woman uses a snug tee shirt that she pins at the bottom (I'll take velcro over a pin anyday!), Sam and Marge use a high quality treat system for Marge when it storms and Sam says its all getting better for them with this. Others use a wrap of ace bandages around the dog. My Mom says because of her hearing, she doesn't always react fast enough to storms, so we are just going to keep on with the shirt.
Our support group can be the ThunderDawgs and we are gonna get tough on those storms!
Here is my Mom's Funny (sort of) Its about How Old You Really Are:
Haw many days old are you? My Mom is plenty many days old like 26,445, she will make you feel younger than springtime! Now me, I am only 1,652 days old!
Have a happy day evfurry buddy and if you want to talk Thundershirts just send us a comment! We have no connection with the Thundershirt people at all except once they got some of our green papers.
Kisses,
Stella, A Thunder Dawg!

Hi Stella! None of us are scared of thunder - but you never know who's gonna have what issues in future!! So thanks for the info. Oh, and Mom always likes your music :-)

PeeeS: Our grandma who's over the bridge now used to be sooo scared of storms and so was her sheltie. They used to hide in the closet together and split a xanax!
Stella, those are some good looking thunder shirts! We hope your mom figures out how to transfer the pictures....mom here is a complete loss about hooking up any thing on her own and always needs help. Everything is always so hard!! That's a good question...I guess mom is about 21,535 days old and I'm a young one at only around 1500 days old. I think mom needs a nap. Lots of love, Holly and mom
We've never heard of thunder shirts, but then not of us are afraid of storms - my Mom's GSD when she was growing up was terrified - she could have surely used one.

Our Mom says if she ever has another dog that's afraid of storms, she's going to try a thundershirt. She says Morgan's too old now to start using one.

My mom is like 23,000 days old.
I have looked Thundershirts up on the net... SEVERAL times. I don't like feeling scared.. butt I also don't like to waste green papers. I'm thinkin maybe I will try a combo of my walkin string Shirt plus some of that Ace Bandage stuffs... Since we already have BOTH of those.
THANKS fur this. I really appreciate it!!!
I've read a lot oabout the Thundershirt!
Zack is terrified of thunderstorms, I give him Melatonin when one is approaching...he sleeps right through it!
I like that idea of keeping the neck part secured so you just have to slip it on and fasten the belly part! So smart!
Id say my big problem with the thundershirt is that its not quite made for deep chested dogs like Darwin, so it doesn't seem to lay on her quite right.
I tink we needs to get one of dose shirt for my pack mate, Rusty. He's terrified of rain, not just thunder.
And I tink dat my Mom is bout 87 million days old!
Hi, Stella!
Sure I hope your Thundershirt helps you!
Sometimes the cameras do weird things. I hope you can recover your pictures!
Take care
Kisses and hugs

The shirt sounds very comforting, like a reassuring hug. Thanks for letting us know about it! And we bet you look quite stylish and happy when wearing it!
Stella, these thunderstorms sound very scary. Gail tells me you have them much more often and much worse in your part of the world, and I am so glad that your Mom has found something that helps you deal with them. I do not like wearing any kind of a shirt so I am glad that its not a big problem in Scotland. When I get over-excited or anxious about something, Gail picks me up and gives me a tight cuddle, which really calms me down. A bit like a human thundershirt I suppose?
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Hi Stella! We missed seeing you while we were away from visiting!Wow, that thundershirt sounds like a great idea - we have never heard of anything like that before. They must not have a cat version (that and we hide so fast if there is a storm mom could never get us in it in time). We bet that it will be great for you and for lots of doggies who will hear about it from you too!
I hope that thundershirt works for you Stella! It's still winter here - but we had some thunder with our snow at the very start of the storm. Now that was ODD!
Two great links thanks for sharing, the thundershirts is a new one to me, Luckly George is OK with thunder. Do hope it works for Stella.
Just done the how many days old are you 18,230 and its right with the info it gives you! I've put that one in my favorites :)
Thanks for your visit and kind comment

Stella. We've overheard Moma talking about getting thundershirts for us when we travel to Florida, where the storms are more frequent and loud loud loud. She's pretty sure they'd help ... we are already getting better about storms ... but then again ... we've not had any major ones in a while.
Did you know that the concept is the same as Temple Grandin's ideas about using pressure to relax cattle? It really makes a lot of sense.
Oh. Before we sign off. Tell your moma that our moma wishes her good luck with the camera. We know. They can be very frustrating. That's about when Moma uses us for her own sort of thundershirt ... and we all get a good cuddle and hug. Works every time.
Much love
Jake and Fergi
Miss Stella Thunder Dawg, we are so sorry to learn you are afraid of thunder. We're not, but mama has had recues in the past who were, so we are filled with sympathy because mama said it can be very upsetting. We're glad your mom found something that helps you.
