Boomer season starts!

Hi Evfurry Buddy!

After a long winter of lots of windy blizzardy storms (but no Thunder Boomers!) we had our furry first  rain storm over the weekend.  Thunder and lightenings were back making me feel scared again just like always.

My Mom asked me if I wanted to put my Thunder shirt on and I jumped right into it!  I still feel scared but somehow it makes me feel a little better.  My Mom wanted me to put it on this morning so she could take my picture in it, but I said NO! the sun is shining and its gonna be a furry nice day.  No Thunder shirt needed. So just take my word for it, I look good in this jacket and it feels snuggy and nice.

I know there are quite a few of you pups out there who share my feelings about thunder boomers.  If we all lived closer together, we could get a support group going about it.  By the way, the cartoon of that is from
Cool Paw Luke's blog and his Mom gave me the OK that I could use it too.

I would like to know how many of you pups are furry scared of thunder storms,  so scared you won't leave your pawrent's side.  How many of you use the Thunder shirt or improvise something like it?  I am just a curious pup is all, don't plan to do anything with the information I get, if I get any.  I just like knowing there are other pups out there feeling like I do.

Right this minute, I am going to go out in the sunshine, in my NO SNOW backyard.  I think we are all done with winter, even though it seems like everyone else isn't!

Kisses,
Stella

We would love to see you in your thundershirt, Stella. Ciara seems to be getting over her fear of the thunder. Of course, Phantom is Phantom. The thundershirt probably won't work for him since he stresses for days before the storms come and not when it is actually storming. He isn't very fond of shirts, his past experiences haven't been the best:(

We hope you don't get too many thunder boomers, Stella. But if you form a support group, you can count Phantom to join.

Morgan would like to join the group. She gets on a lap or between us in bed at the first sign of thunder.

Bentley was afraid of thunder, but Monty was the worst I had to give him valium to get thru a storm. He finally learned to go downstairs and sit in a closet during storms. Poor boy.

Thunder Storms scare me something awful. Soooooo please show us a pic of your shirt and tell us where you got it. I have heard mixed reviews of them.

Now about the Charcoal A Salt on me... Last year I found a nest of baby bunnies in my garden!! AND I did not hurt or bother them in any way. I was very much careful of them... so Charcoal should have known that I wouldn't hurt any babies. BUTT Miss K suggested that it may have been beclaws he is soooo very much busy getting eggs colored and chocolate stuffs made.. that he was just having a bad day.

Hi Stella
I don't think I am scared of thunder, although I am not sure that I have ever experienced a thunder storm, as they happen only very infrequently in my part of the world. Perhaps you should come for a visit during your 'thunder season'. Meanwhile, stay cosy in the special shirt!

Come On Stella, model the shirt for us.
I, Hamish am scared of thunder-boomers, I claw at the rug and Mom puts a regular shirt on me an tightens it with a safety pin.
My sister Sophie is not fazed in the least.

Darwin's a thundershirt user! We had weird weather last week, thunderstorms and snow (in APRIL!) and I put on her thundershirt and she was a lot less reactive to the thunder.

LOVE the cartoon. I might have to borrow it one of these days :)

Marge doesn't wear a Thundershirt, but I do feed her high-value treats rapidly during storms. It has helped a lot, and now she doesn't need the treats all the time.

P.S. - I contacted Amber and let her know that you and I were both worried about her. She said that she's OK but busy, and will be back to blogging ASAP. :)

Hi, Stella!
Sorry about those storms!
I bark at them!
There are lots of things that scare me but storms and fireworks don't!
I hope you are ok!
Take care

A thundershirt sounds like a wonderful thing to have and I bet you look happier and calmer when you wear it. I do not like thunderstorms at all and sit on momma or hide behind the chair. Nuka cannot hear the noise so she is fine. Puff goes in her crate and curls up way in the back. Sometimes my brother, Quinn, actually goes outside and stands in the rain.

Hi Stella!

A thundershirt? I think we saw it once at the vet, kinda cool looking. Personally thunder never bother me, i only dont like the sound of the pattering of rain against the window panes..otherwise i'd sleep like a log during thunderstorms.

Cheers,
Maxxs

Our pups are not afraid of thunder. I think that the reason is that our trainer has us do a game with them from when we first meet them. The game is that they get a handful of yummy treats (super duper yummy - like fresh chicken or something) whenever the thunder booms. So, if we're home for a storm, we sit by the dogs and it rains treats whenever it booms. It's worked for us!

They say that we're getting up to a foot of very wet snow here tonight. Woo hoo!!! I actually hate snow at this time of year but I'm cheering because the fire danger will go down!

We do not get a lot of thunder, I can not hear so good now so even the fireworks did not scare me .
