Hope Springs Eternal!

My Mom says that should be my Motto, my words to live by.  Why is that you ask?  Because I get fed twice a day, morning and evening.  I clean up my bowl everytime I eat.  I go out of doors, at least 5 times a day, and when I come in of doors, I first rush to my food bowl and see if there is anything in it.  There never is, unless its 5 pm.  But everytime all day long, when I come in I check it.  My Mom says THAT is what Hope Springs Eternal really means.  I think she is trying to be funny, but what she doesn't know is there is nothing funny about an empty bowl..

This week, I got a very nice package in the mail,  and just nearly went crazy snoofing it and scooting it around the kitchen floor.  (The mailman must go nutz at all the wonderful smells!)  It was from Siku Marie, the White Dog.  We had put in a couple of posts for her birthday celebration and because of that, we won a drawing for a prize.  Here is what was in the box:  For me, a flashy tennis ball, a bag of treatz ( do you know Siku Marie has treatz NAMED after her? Wow), and a greenie to chew on.  My Mom got this cute mug that says:  My Dog Rescued Me! and a package of dessert coffee (raspberry chocolate).  My Mom had never had this coffee before but she says it is soooo good, she just loves it!  So we want to thank Siku Marie, her pawrents and the White Army for sending us these goodies and we love them..
Part of Siku Marie's birthday celebration was a Comment-A-thon with donations for every comment, going to Cancer Research, it was a very special occasion!

We are so deep in snow, my Mom has to shovel the back porch every couple of days, or the storm door gets stuck and I can't get out there to take care of my bizness.  She could put my leash on me and take me to the street but I don't like to go in the street.  Just one-a those things.

I send good wishes to all of you from me, Stella, my Mom and Ali Zophia.  May your bowl always be full.

Until they all have homes,

All of us

For some reason, the hu-dad takes our bowls up and puts them in a closet (something about us checking each others bowls and the conflict that might cause). But everytime he walks anywhere near that closet, we jump up thinking we might - just might - be getting fed.

Congratulations on your prizes! Sam is the same way. If we are sitting on the couch, he brings his dish over (and then Monty's afterwards!), and looks at it. You can almost hear him saying "It's empty!"

Our Mom picks up our bowls after we eat and puts them on a high shelf so we can't check them, but Samba does take a look at the counters several times a day to see if anything has fallen out of the cupboards.

Congratulations on your prizes. You're so lucky to have so much snow.

Until they all have homes, and full bowls, and safety...we love you because you and your family care so much!

Thank you for helping to make my Comment-A-Thon such a success for raising funds for Canine Cancer Research! I am so happy that you like your gifts...and that mom enjoyed the coffee!

You never know, Stella, one day there might just be food there in that bowl at a different time of day. Well worth checking, I'd say!

PS But I like to 'go' in the street not the garden. Funny that.

"My dog rescued me" - truer words could not be spoken in this house! I think that it's the same in yours!

I sometimes sneak treats into my dogs' bowls just to keep them on their toes.

Glad that you got such fun presents, Stella!

We get fed twice a day too, Stella, but that doesn't stop us from checking the kitchen all the time for foodables. Mom picks up our bowls after we eat, so we just check out what's going on up on the counters. And always be sure to look for crumbs on the floor. Mom says we are the best vacuums for food that she knows, but she wishes we could do something about all the fur flying around here:)

Very nice presents from the White Dog Army - a very nice family of pups and peeps.

Good to see you posting again! What a wonderful gift package you got. [Mama loves your music choice, too!]

Our bowls go up, too, after each meal. We check the floor and keep a sharp eye on mama, just in case...

Oh Stella my love, thank you so much fur stopping by today to let me know you miss me. My mom REALLY needs to get back with the program, doesn't she?

I'm still here, and I'm doing well. As well as can be expected with the normal winter goings on of snow vs. nekkid belly, that is.

Mom was thinking the other day about helping me write on my blog, but didn't get around to it. We will try our best to post soon. We miss you and all our friends, and even Ali Z.

Thanks again fur thinking of us. We luv you!!!!

PS. My word verification is frumbles. I hope we don't see too many frumbles during the big game tomorrow.
