Balmy weather!

We are having a grey and cloudy day today but it is far warmer than it was last week!   Its 28 degrees today and if we had the sun out, we would lose some of this abundance of snow we have.

our house

Across the street from our house  is a large church which has a very busy daycare going on.   Today I had to leave Stella in the yard while I did an errand, but I did catch a photo of some of the littler kids playing on the big hill the snowplow makes for them.

They just climb to the top of the snow pile, sit down and slide on their butts to almost the bottom!  They were having a most merry time of if,  with three groups of kids, the one you see, and one more on both the right and left.  My pictures didn't turn out well because it was so dark.

I told someone the other day I didn't mind winter a bit if the temperature stayed ABOVE ZERO!  We used to spend the whole day playing in it, with sleds, toboggans, and card board boxes.  As we got a little older we would go to the school skating rink and skate all evening long.  Such fun we had!  Back in those days, there was no leash law, so our dogs went wherever we did and had the same merry time we did.

I am going to make Stella cookies tomorrow and she will be very happy about that.  Wishing you a most happy weekend!

Kisses,
Stella, Jo, and Ali Zkhat

I'm so glad that you're having "balmy" weather. We are too!

It must be great to get outside and enjoy it. I bet that Stella liked her time in the yard. Those kids look very happy.

That is a ton of snow! Oh my, how did you keep up with the shoveling?

I remember my American friend Marse telling me about the year of her childhood spent in Duluth. (Her Dad was in the military so they moved all over the country). Their house was a mile and a half from the school, and her Dad's rule was that they had to walk unless the temperature was below zero, in which case he would give the Marse and her four younger siblings a lift in the car. Pretty reasonable, I thought, then realised that she was talking Fahrenheit not Centigrade (for monolingual US readers, zero C = 32 F !)
Cheers,
Gail.

YOU HAVE GOT A PILE OF SNOW, BUT IT DOES NOT SOUND TO COLD.
WE THINK ITS GOOD FOR ONE DAY WHEN IT FIRST COMES, THEN WE DON'T LIKE IT MUCH.

Love the snow pictures and especially the kids playing. We don't have snow where I live but we can see it on the mountains around our house. I won't tell you what our temperature is! I really would like to play in snow. Maybe someday my person will take me to the mountains! Happy blog day!
