Stella gets annoyed!

Hi Evfurry Buddy:  Jo here to tell you that Stella almost always has a pleasant demeanor and gets along good with every one, except for last night.

It started to get dark and stormy looking, I was busy with some laundry, and Stella started barking.  I thought it must be thundering  (I can't always hear it), so I put her storm jacket on her.  She kind of likes that jacket, so she paraded around in it for a while, and then, started barking again.  I asked her what? what is all the barking about?  She went into the utility room and I thought, oh, she just needs to go outside.  I opened the door for her, she backs up and goes back to the kitchen.  I must admit to not paying much attention to her, so her barking continued.  I said Stella!  Quit the barking!  Now you may wonder why I can't hear thunder but I can hear Stella barking.  She pitches her barks to what I can hear.  It took her a while to learn to do this, but she has and it amazes me.

So she continues stomping around, and barking and I finally said.  This is too much, Stella, you have to quit.  She looked at me, picked up her food dish, and tossed it across the floor.   I HAD FORGOTTEN TO FEED HER SUPPER!  What a calamity!  Three hours late and one hungry dog.  I felt badly because I have not done this before.  I feed her at 5 pm every day without fail, except for this one, where I just got wrapped up in my work.  So sorry, Stella, we will try not to let this happen again.

Do you ever forget to feed your dog?  What do they do to tell you?

So thats my little story, I will pay closer attention to her carrying on after this.  Right now, Stella is outside enjoying the sunshine, Ali Zophia is upstairs doing who knows what, and I am going to start my home PT exercises!

So on behalf of Stella and Z, and me, Happy New Week to you all.
Jo

Oh Jo! That's funny! Have you been excused from your lapse, yet?

When it gets to be around 4pm Stumpy plants her butt in the kitchen and won't go anywhere until I feed her. We don't have a regular feeding time, exactly; somewhere between 3 and 6.

Funny!! She knows the schedule. So do we. With all of us M doesn't have a chance to forget to feed us. Even our 2 foster pups get pushy when it's time to eat...
Stella you are very smart!!

Well Stella, I can quite understand why even one so good natured as yourself might become annoyed when a certain person forgets to feed you. I am learning to live with the fact that Gail can be a bit irregular. I am told that Hamish used to go and lick his empty bowl in a rather pointed way if ever he thought that dinner was a bit late! I too may have to resort to that.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
PS Aren't you clever Stella, adaptint your voice to a pitch that Jo can hear. Gail is telling me that as she is blessed with very good hearing, perhaps I might similarly adapt and think about barking a little more softly.....

Laughing - The Herd is not fed on a set schedule, but does eat morning and night. While I have never totally forgotten, I certainly been well past a normal time. They can get quite vocal singing for their dinner (the Sibernacle Choir)

Oh dear! Poor Stella! And how clever of her to get the message across like that.

#1 has forgotten"to give me lunch once or twice, and I just forgive her, and never say anything. Since I get two meals a day, I know I will always get something good to eat!

Oh my goodness, poor Stella is starving!
What a clever girl to throw her food bowl across the floor!
My husband once forgot to feed Martha and Bailey - I had left earlier on a night out - he gets in around 5pm which is when we feed them.
When I returned at around 11pm both dogs were sound asleep and I asked if they had eaten their dinner OK - Bailey can be fussy - Martha eats everything and anything.
He calmly announces he thought I had fed them!!!!!!!!
Well I considered divorce...........but finally calmed down - I was a bit like Stella and wanted to throw something but M & B were fine with a midnight feast!

We hope you remembered to have your own dinner too. We just follow the Momster everywhere and we think she figures it out. We are glad that Stella is such a smart girl that she figured out how to let you know.

Have a good week.

Hi, Jo!
Oh-oh! Sure Stella was not happy!
I don't have that problem. My mom gives me my breakfast before she goes out to work and my dinner just after we came home from my walkie.
The lunch... sometimes my grandma takes her time but I let her know about it... I cry... and cry... and cry... until she gets the idea!
Happy week to you, Stella and AliZ!

I hope that Stella has forgiven you!

We sometimes get mixed up - I think that the other human did the feeding and he thinks that I did it... but our dogs have never been so creative as to throw their bowls around :)

That Stella is one smart girl!!

I'm glad to hear you mentioning things like "working on the laundry" and "doing your home PT exercises". That tells me that the healing is marching along! I'm happy for you.

Hi Stella,
I can't remember if I've introduced myself yet? I am Mr Darcy's family's new doggie! I just started blogging a few days ago!

Stella, mumma has never forgotten to feed me; but she never feeds me enough sadly!

I like your tantrum by the way.

I don't think Tucker would let us get ten minutes past his scheduled dinner time, let alone three hours.

Well! You deserved a little annoying Stella for that. My humans can't forget to feed be because I remind them every day at 5PM ON THE DOT! I am very good at telling time. Maybe Stella should just remind you sooner. :-)

oh no! I hope she has forgiven you! I sure wouldn't!! hehe! Naw, I never get forgot acos at about quarter to 6 (I gets fed at 6) I start running around making a fuss and barking at people and at the kitchen side where my meat has beed defrosting during the day. Mum always says that they can never forget to feed me. Mum did forget sometimes when we lived on our own afore, maybe that why I makes such a fuss now.

Oh that is so funny - we can understand why you would get so annoyed at missing dinner! But our mom has done that on one occasion - usually if there is something else going on. Then we usually get fed very late - at least you were able to get your point across eventually!

OMD Stella, Mom and I are furry impressed that you've learned to pitch your barking so Jo can hear it! But then again, us dogs are pretty amazing... :-)

We are laughing at the thought of you throwing your bowl across the floor, BOL!

Mom forgot to feed me one day and didn't remember until we were cuddled up in bed. She felt a lot worse about it than I did... :-(

Cloud

Oh Stella, you are one smart girl. (And that was one funny story. I can just picture poor Stella in her storm jacket, working her perfect pitch, trying what she can...then WHAM, food dish flies across the floor!)

Kona will sometimes come paw me around dinnertime, but I haven't figured out if she's asking for food or just wants attention.

Stella - you are so incredibly smart - you pitch your barks to your Mom's ear and throw down your food dish to let Ma know you need food. Now that is human communication by a doggeh!!! You are so smart. But I'm pretty good too. If Mom's typing away on blogs around 7pm and I'm hungry, I come up to her, and with a soft woof/whine, stare at her plaintifully while sort of backing up and she knows she's been bad. It's happened twice, but my dinner time is 6 PM and I know when 6pm is... always!!! I can tell time, and it appears that you, Stella, can tell time too heheh!

With the group I have now, it would be hard to forget dinner time. They start the campaign about ten minutes ahead of time.

Back when I had one dog and I was working, if I was too slow about getting the food out, she'd slam the bowl with her paw and send it flying across the room. It happened more than once.

Jo we went to a small town call Reedsburg. This is where both Mom and Dad grew up on farms.. Mom's parents have sold the farm and moved into town. Dad's parents still have the farm hence all the running room for us.. We didn't even chase the cows. We did bark at them though...
Reedsburg is close to Wisconsin Dells..

You are very clever to bark so your Mom can hear. Mom has forgot to feed us and I carry on like a nut. I do this snorty sneezy thing and buck around like a bucking bronco!

BOL Way to go girl! Way to tell your mom, Stella. Our mom has definitely forgotten to feed us too, on occasion(s). Frankie keeps pacing from her to the food bowl, hint hint, whereas Linguini just follows her making puppy eyes. I don't care much about food, so when she forgets I just let her.
