Late for last week, early for this week!

Hi EveryBuddy!  Jo here.  We have been seriously delinquent about posting this week, its been a busy time.  But here is some good news, at 9 weeks post op, I have been having PT, and today got the boot!  No more PT and for that I am quite happy.  Its been a good time, though.  My new knee is within 5 degrees of use of my "good" knee  and the surgical scar is even looking pretty good.  I have a card for five free sessions at our local health center, and will also do home exercises for several more months.  I may even join the Health Center if I am able to do that.  Stella, as you know, has been walked by our good friend Lori, and they are both fast movers.  So yesterday, I harnassed her for a walk and she makes like she is taking off with Lori, but I stopped her and reminded her she is back with her pokey Mom these days.  As usual, she adjusted to that and we moseyed a good bit.  I just can't risk falling yet, so I will stay slow for a few more months.  The only pain I get at this point comes with thunderstorms and heavy weather!  So I am celebrating once again having my time as my own and getting around very well!  Thanks for your encouragement!

Hi all you pups and kitties, goats and hamster (lol!)  Stella here.  I really wish I had  a whole lot to write, I have been getting out for some walkies with Lori first and then my Mom, Pokey Petunia and right this minute I am ready to go outside and chew up a marrow bone which just smells wonderful.  In a couple of weeks, I think my Mom will be geared to walk a couple of miles to the Lake, like we used to do.  Then we will take some nice pictures for you to see.  But just for right now, I have a bone waiting for me on the back porch!

Hi Kitties and Pups!  Ali Z here.  I am going to tell you about a little adventure  I did.  About a week ago Stella was going out the back door and I sneaked out right behind her! Now I never go outside, but sometimes I just want a little grass to eat.  The backyard is fenced in so its not like I can go furry far or anything!  My Mom left me out for a while, then she called for us to come in and Stella did, but I stayed out.  I watched the lights go out in the house and for me, I spent the whole night OUTSIDE by MYSELF.  I loved it and I might do it again sometime too.  Meow, Meow Ali Z!

All the news thats fit to print from,
Jo, Stella and Ali Z

Yah for booting the PT!! Wait, that is what you said, right? ;)

It must feel great to get out with Stella. We'll be looking forward to those lake pictures over here!

I'm so happy that you're making such great progress. I'm sure Stella is thrilled to have you back on the other end of the leash.

Ali Z, be careful out there. The night can be full of dangers. Our neighbor's cat was attacked by coyotes. She survived, but one leg doesn't work too well anymore.

Congrats on the leg. You're making great progress, it seems!

We're being blogging delinquents lately, too. It just seems like there isn't enough time to devote to it. Hopefully be next week things will calm down (though I feel like I've been saying that for about a month!)

Such wonderful news about your knee, Jo. We are so happy that it is going so very well. That's the best kind of boot to get:)

Stella, before you know it, you and Mom will make it to the lake. You are such a good girl to be so patient. Wish we had a good marrow bone.

Ali Z., you are becoming quite the wild one staying out all night. Don't do that too often or you might not get back in in the morning.

I hope you have a speedy recovery, Jo! Make sure not to push yourself to quickly. I'm sure Stella won't mind taking it slow so that the two of you can enjoy your walk together.

We're glad to hear your moma is getting better. It's a long haul, but so worth it. One step at a time.

Keep up the good work and enjoy those walkies!

Great news about the knee Jo! Enjoy your walks with Stella and ignore any comments about being 'Pokey Petunia' (great expression, btw).
We are wondering if Ali Z is in danger of losing her 'lying on bed' privileges if she starts to become an outside cat?
Cheers,
Gail and Bertie.

Hi Jo, we are so glad your knee is doing well!
You are wise to take things slowly in the beginning - as you say you don't want to fall!
Hi Stella, what a fun time you have been having! Walkies and bones.......could it get any better!
Hi Ali Z, we can't believe you stayed outside all night.........!
You are very brave indeed - what an adventure you had.
We would have been scared.
love and kisses

We are very glad to hear that your knee recovery is going really well. It sounds like you and Stella will be back to walking like normal soon!

Ali Z, I like to go outside and eat grass too. Sometimes Mom buys me some catgrass at Petsmart, but it's just not the same.

Wilbur

Congratulations Jo!! Everything is sounding very good! Just take it very slow for now. (I have too and Holly hates it!) It's wonderful that you and Stella can go on a walk! Ali Z..if you stay outside all night, don't start hanging around with the wrong crowd!!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
