A Raggedy Week!

Hello Evfurry Buddy!  Its good to check in with you today even though it my part of the world its not quite Saturday.  This is Mom here and talking about starting our Physical Therapy on Wednesday, my meet up with my surgeon on Thursday and today again with the therapist.  The Doc seemed to think all was going well,  I will be having PT three times a week for an hour each time.  And you know what, its a killer!  I'm no real stranger to PT, having dislocated my shoulder two summers ago, but I must say this is quite another story!  However, coming from the Chin-Up kind of family, we are doing the very best we can manage.  In addition to our PT guy, we are expected to do home base PT on our own two times a day on days we also have it at the Center, and then three times a day at home when we don't.  The plus here is that you get stronger and better faster, by doing all this work.  The minus is your body is yelling for a strong pain pill and the bed!  Whats that you say?  You didn't tune in to listen to me grumble?  Somebody ought to, don't you think?

Stella here, this grumbling seems to be catching, do you think?  We have had a whole week of rain, except for today,  Just spent the days lolling around snoozing.  Nothing wrong with that, really, but I do love to get out and walk a little.  Today was Sunny and  Lori came and picked me up for a walk and what a pleasure that was!  (If you remember Lori was our sitter while Mom was in the hospital.) Lori is a fun walker, much faster than Mom is and we really put on some tracks in a short time!  I love to zoom along like that!  I hope Mom's new knee is fast like that when she gets it running good.

Ali Zophia here.  I agree with Stella that it has been a snoozy week with lots of rain here.  Even though I have been made a member of the Naughty Kitty Club, I have had no time to deal with any kind of naughty stuff at all.  I have spent time snoozing with my Mom and keeping her cuddled and warm.  I suppose that is the least a cat can do to help their Mom along the road to recovery (if that is actually what she is ON!)  There are some questions in my mind here.  We haven't even been able to read many blogs at all either.  We are limited to an hour at the computer, so that is not much fun at all.  Oh dear, well, things will get better don't you think, think about some of our fun times and we will get them back when Mom stops feeling sorry for herself.  So thanks for dropping by, and we may have a better report for you next week!  Be sure and have a good look at Joe Stain's blog, all  about moving house and very funny!

Love and hugs,

Jo, Stella and Ali Zophia

Grumbling is soothing! Grumbling actually can be healing!! I think so anyway!! I sure know how physical therapy can be...it makes you want to take a few pain pills and just stay in bed. Please take care of yourself and do as much as you can. (Oh..this is mom talking..not Holly!!) I'm glad you have Stella and the kitty to help you recover. Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

You are doing so well with your PT, no problem grumbling. Our Mom seems to do a lot of that these days too. So nice of your friend to take Stella for a walk. And Ali Z., we are sure Mom loves all that cuddling. We have had a lot of rain too - the weekend doesn't seem to be showing signs of improvement either.

The recovery part is no fun. It's true though, doing those excersizes will make for a speedy and more complete recovery! did the give you one of those knee moving machines?

Seems like with all the rain you picked a great week to snooze and recover. Plenty of time to enjoy the better weather when you're up and mobile!

Oh guys, sometimes these humans need to grumble!
They are not like us dogs at all.
We hope your mom continues to do her physical therapy and we know she will soon be up and dancing!
Well at least walking - so make sure you look after her.
After all that is our job.

Hi Jo, Stella and Ali Z!
How nice to hear you news. And to learn that Scotland isn't the only place where it rains too much!
Now Stella, i hope you are encouraging your Mom to get on with all that PT. Tell her to think about all the nice walks she'll be able to take you on. That's not a selfish attitude is it?

I unnerstand all the grouching what with exercising a knee that is ouchie PAINful! (But Ma says that the more you can get over the initial ouchie parts, the faster your mom will recover, but sometimes it doesn't seem that way). So sorry Stella and Ali Z - I think you are being furry patient pets with your Mamma, which is just perfect for all of you! What a good family!
Big Hugs xoxoxo

Jo, Stella, and Ali Z: I can hear myself in your words and remember all too well how it starts to feel like an endless process. We're all pulling for you through the grumbling and the happy times.

Although I agree that the PT stuff is painful and boring, you're absolutely spot-on that it's a big key to getting your mom's knee working at high speed! So, Stella, it's your job to supervise her with Yips of approval for good jobs. Both you and Ali Z can share the job of snuggling when she's tired afterwards. We're thinking of you. You're as tough as h#11 so I know that you're on the road to recovery!

BTW, grumbling is just fine with me. We all do it and usually feel better afterwards!
