Explain Yourself!

Hello All of you Pups and Kitties!

Mom here:  Here is our first promised Saturday post and the whys of it. Now after all your curiosity, I really wish it were an around the world cruise or something quite exciting, and its not.  Oh, to me it is, but its not.

On April 26th I will be going into the hospital for  surgery on my knee.  I will be requiring a total knee replacement, which I have needed for a very long time.  The aftercare part of this is extensive physical therapy, 3 days a week for about 8 weeks.  At first I will walk with a walker, then a cane, then hopefully, just dancing about on my own.  The PT people also require doing exercises on your own at home.  So I felt,I just wouldn't be up to helping Stella with her blog for quite a while, not to mention not doing much of interest to anybody.  Then the more I thought of a once a week blog, the more I liked it.  We could feature Stella, Ali Z and myself and each have some different say-so.  We'll see how it goes.

Stella here! Now I am going to miss my Mom for the few days she will be in the hospital.  BUT I have A TEAM who will be taking care of me and Ali Z.  Yes, I think this TEAM will be furry important to keep me and Z fed and watered and outside!  Our neighbor Adam, our librarian Lori, our sister Laura will all be looking out for us, so don't you worry about us  even one bit!  We won't like it that our Mom won't be here, but we like our TEAM so that will work out good, don't you think?

Z here!                        I can tell you, I am not going to like this one bit.  I will be alone in this house with Stella who just loves to chase me around and she thinks its FUN. What she doesn't know is that I have more hiding places than she ever thought of in her whole life.  I don't care what anyone says, dogs are NOT all that smart.  Uh, probably next week, Twinkie Twinkerson will be taking over my Advice Column and you should watch for it, it should be pretty good, heh, heh!

Something interesting tonight, for those of you who read Ludo's blog and he spoke of a fellow who likes to build arty things with stones, and did so on Ludo's beach.  I have long been interested in the Inuit Inukshuk  which is a statue made of rocks to help the Inuit of Alaska to find their way about in the winter when there are no landmarks.  You can see some photos of Inukshuks here .  It is my wild wish to make one of these before our next winter if I can add enough stones to my collection!

So thats all for now.  Try us again next week and we won't be talking about surgery or TEAMS.  We will find somethings that will be of interest to all of us!.

Kisses, Cheers and Meows,

Stella, Jo and Ali Zophia

Best of luck with the knee replacement. We are rooting for you.

Good idea on cutting back on the blogging for a while, but we still want to hear from you.

I have a small Inukshuk (ok, not just balanced, but looks right) that was given to me by some of the Canadian team that I work with. It has a prominent place on my bookcase. Very interesting.

Now, Stella and Ali Z, no bickering. This is the time when you step up and help your mom, OK? Got it?

And, to your mom, I'm glad that you're doing this surgery. I've known people who've had the same surgery and it's been miraculous. They can walk and be active without pain after the recovery.

You're very wise to cut back other things so you can focus on recovering. If you follow all the PT instructions, it can take all day long :)

BTW, Ali Z, in case you care, you contradicted yourself. If dogs aren't smart, then why should we even look at Twinkie's new column???

Ali Z here: I really meant to say that MOST dogs aren't all that smart. But Twinkie has an edge on them, he is smart AND funny. I mean when you are a teacup chihuahua, with three good legs and weighing in at 4 lbs. you gotta have some extra stuff going on, right?

Hi Jo, Stella and Ali Zophia,
Now I shall always have something to look forward to on Saturdays. I hope there won't be any quarrels about who gets most 'airtime' on the new style blog!
All the best with the surgery - my mother had a knee replacement operation about eight years ago and hasn't looked back since. Hope it all goes well for you too.
Cheers! Gail.
