Spring brings new life!

Stella says I am giving today's post to my Mom.

Thanks, Stella, and I have some interesting things for you.  To make this a little longer, a while back I found a web site called A Word A Day (AWAD).  The writer shares his love of words with us and gives us just that, a new word each day to learn.  Then, a man named Dick Ellis who lives in CA, with a great writing talent, takes that word and incorporates it into one of his great stories (doug and Sylvia at the moment .)  These two fellows aren't connected in anyway, I don't think, except one gives a word and the other uses it!

At the end of today's post, he said this:

Mollie the Owl might be of interest. Someone in southern California built an owl box. It sat atop its 15' pole for 2 years before Mollie and McGee (the owls) decide to nest in it. There's a hidden camera and microphone and it's live... The eggs are expected to hatch in the next day or so, or sooner. .  If you do check it out you will find a beautiful barn owl busy hatching out her new youngsters, who are due to appear, any day now.

This will give us something to watch until the PA Peregrines get busy with nest building and egg laying.

We are down for 55 degrees today and no snow predicted until sometime later than now!

Cheers and hugs,

Jo, and Stella who is snoozing

Incredible photo! I couldn't believe my eyes! We're in the high 70s in LA, but don't be jealous, the sunshine and warm weather are going bye bye soon.

We had such a beautiful pre-Spring day here today. Mom did lots of outside work and all of us got to be outside almost all day. But we hear there is snow in our forecast for Saturday. After the day we had today, even we sibes aren't sure if we should be happy about that or not.

There was an eagle on the TV weather camera the other day. Then it pooped for the camera. Steve thought it was hilarious.

We want to get an owl box at some point. I know we have owls around here because we can hear them screeching at night. Some day! (The good ones aren't cheap ...)

Just been over to check out that beautiful owl. She didn't seem to be paying much attention to the eggs at 3 am this morning! (Owls always remind me of school, as our emblem, embroidered on my navy blue blazer and beret, was an owl, supposedly imparting wisdom!)
Cheers,
Gail.

I've been hearing about how warm it is there. The bear researchers in Ely are wondering if their bears will emerge from hibernation early. Only time will tell.

The downside for the bear is that their food doesn't necessarily grow early just because it's warm.

Love the owl picture!
