Raffingora

Now its raining today and I'm Still Wet!

I want to tell you about a blog called Raffingora.  These folks did a few blogs last year, with the last one being in September of 09. They are located in Zimbabwe.  I knew that Caryl (Max's Mom) knew them so I wrote and asked if
she knew if they were OK.  She wrote back and said they were alright and glad that we missed them.

So today, we got a new blog from these folks and it is great to hear from them.  You will find a Mom who works, several domestic animals and the main guy being a boerbul called Musole.

But what you really Have to Do, is go back to the first blogs they did,  Raffingora, and read about all the things that have happened to them in the last few years.  Then read the most recent one.  There are not a lot of them, so it won't take you too long.

Just for a teaser, I am going to tell you that they raised lion cubs for a local animal reserve and here is a picture of Musole and one of the cubs:

and here is a picture of the cubs and Musole  resting in their baskets.

I just think you will love this blog as much as we do and I hope you get the time to read it from the beginning, those of you who are new.

Now we can think about this, My Mom was looking at this blog last night and wondering how everybuddy was, so she sent an e-mail to Caryl in Johannesburg, South Africa, who sent an email to Raffingora in Zimbabwe, and this morning I read their new blog!  Faster than fast!  I hope they stay with us, because it give us a look at a different life and locale, and the more we know about other people, the better off we are. The more people know about us, the better off we all are.

Kisses,
Stella (and Jo)

Thanks so much for doing this, Stella! You are an angel!

Raffingora's folks need all the cyber-support and upliftment they can get! It is so hard living in a strife-torn country! They are shining examples of the tenacious spirit when all odds are stacked against you! Thank you!

Hi Stella and Jo
I'd been wondering what was had happened to the Raffingora blog. Thanks so much for letting us know. I'll go right over to catch up. I've been learning a lot about Zimbabwe just recently as I have a friend from Aberdeen University lodging with me at the moment who comes from Zimbabwe, where his father is restaurant critic for the main newspaper (yes really!). I think the father used to do more 'real' reporting but that became very dangerous. Apparently the family used to have two dogs - a Rhodesian ridgeback and, less predictably, a chihuahua! My friend finds Aberdeen very cold.
Cheers, Gail.
PS Still missing Hamish of course, but also weighing up options for the new blog and the new dog!

Hi Stella, yes we remember that blog and it was very good with amazing stories.
It is strange when blogs disappear - you are always left wondering if everything is OK so good for you checking up on it.
Have a great weekend - with any luck it will stop raining.
