Good morning, Kitties and Pups! We have been having some nasty weather, all over the USA, haven't we?
We also have lots of mail today, so lets get right to it!
Cloud the Wonder Dog speaks about his beloved cat, Boomer, who loves water, and gets into the shower with their Mom in the morning, sometimes walks around the edge of the tub, has even fallen in! Why is this?
Cloud, do you think perhaps that it is because she only feels SAFE around your Mom and will do whatever she needs to do to be close to her? Otherwise some cats just seem to like water and enjoy playing in it. I have never known one to go in the shower though.
Stumpy, the Giant Speckeled Chihuahua writes If toast always lands butterside down, and cats always land on their feet, what would happen if you strapped toast to a cats back and dropped it. Stumpy, if this were to happen at my house, Stella would eat the buttered toast long before it could get strapped on my back! I really don't know the answer to this but I suspect the cat, being the heaviest, would win !
Fiona says Mom is bringing a puppy home this weekend and maybe you can help me deal with it!
Oh Fiona, just be kind to the puppy, be like a Mom to it and you will get along just fine. Oh, well, they love to chew everything in sight so you might want to put your favorites toys away for a while. Remember, you were a puppy once too!
KB asks Could you possibly take a few days away from home to come teach my dog, R, to be polite to cats. We need a tough cat like you who won't run away but isn't as big as Leo the Mountain Lion to teach him a lesson. We'll pay for your plane ticket! Uhhh, KB, are you serious? My first family declawed me!
I have no defenses except hind claws, teeth, and a hiss! Two big dogs in your house! I would really, really just love to come, and its very generous of you to pay my way, however, I am not allowed outdoors. So sorry, Maybe something intermediate, like the Bobcat could help you! Uhh, thanks again!
Huskee and Hershey who live in far away Singapore ask a question on behalf of their Mom. She is most eager to know why do we always follow her into the bathroom and leave her with absolutely zero privacy to do her "business". Pups, I suppose its because the bathroom is always an interesting place for dogs amd they are curious about what goes on in there. However, our bathroom has a door on it, that locks, and our Mom makes sure its closed when she goes in and that way, we stay out, no matter how curious we are.
Neverending Poo Questions, or Poo Corner:
The OP Pack asks We have a problem with rabbit pellets in our yard and TD seems to think it is his job to clean it up. What do you think of that? I think its too bad a smart dog like TD is eating these rabbit poos. My concern is always the diseases they might carry and that a dog could get very sick eating them. Peerhaps you could booby trap a small pile of them with some loud noise or something, but TD probably wouldn't get scared of that either. So you see, we have decided that this is an addiction for a dog (doggy dope) and probably only a canine addiction counselor could help in this matter. I can only point out the danger.
Tank tells me there is nothing he enjoys more than annoying a cat, so here is another poo question from him. He wants to know why I think dogs are attracted to other animals poo? Ah, Tank, I am sure we have covered this someplace along the way since we started talking about dogs eating poo. Someplace said that it was a protein deficiency, but me, Tank, I say it is an addiction to the smell since dogs almost always have their noses in someones rear. You would think you guys could find another hobby!
Thats all for today. I hope you are all managing the snow and bad weather alright. If you have a question,
please send it in a comment and I will do my best to answer it.

Hey there Ali-Z, dear Kitty...
Thanks for your entertaining post yet again. You sure do have all the answers. Sometimes I wish I had all the answers too as well as one of your nine lives perhaps...oh well...why are kitties so lucky?
Thank you for always being you and bringing a smile to mom's face...always!
Okay, Im finally going to say it, but its gonna be a whisper...
"You are a great kitty and I think I finally like cats!"

Such a smart kitty, always has the good answers. TD says he thinks he IS very smart because the pellets are so tasty he can't possibly resist them.
The only question we have for you is , where is Stella?
Woos, Phantom and Thunder
I wish I could answer all those kinds of questions as good as you do. I am happy you are here to do it for me!
I like to get in the bathtub, but not while the water is actually running. I hide behind the shower curtain and attach the furry beasts.

Wilbur
Ali Z, you are the smartest cat we know - did you go to university?
You sure know a lot of things.
love and kisses

I have no poo questions, so that's probably a good thing.
My question is, how can I remind mum to buy me ham every week?
Ali-z Faline would like to agree with you, she says that rabbit pellets really doesn't have any nutrition in them, cos they is on the second go round. But maybe dogs likes the taste of grass?
Then again rabbits eat their own poo, so she casnot really talk.
Anyways, please tell dear Stella I missed her whilst Mum beed away from the computer.

I think Stumpy's question may have stumped you. Hee hee hee.

Rusty here. You are such a smart cat and my brothers and sisters laugh at me for this, so maybe you can answer this. Why, when I am asleep, do I insist on rolling over so that I fall off the bed or couch or lap or whatever? No big deal, I just shake myself off, climb back up, and go back to sleep.
Great advice as usual, Ali Zophia. On Fiona's comment though, may I add a nice layer of wee pads all over the house?
Twink!
Another week of khatertainment!
Well pawed!

Hi Ali Z,
One of my neighbours, a cat called MacTavish, is thinking about starting a blog. As she has no dogs in the house to help her out, I wonder if you could offer her a few hints to get her started? I think she might be a bit intimidated by the fact that her humans are 'real' writers!
She lives at:

Cheers, H.
Ali Z: You are too funny, each and every week.
I didn't know that you were declawed. Now I see that my plan was ill-conceived. Mr. Bobcat just avoids R like the plague (K loves housecats like you). So, Mr. Bobcat can't teach R anything. And Leo the mountain lion might teach R's final lesson. And, we don't want that!
I'll keep looking for the 'right' cat for the job. It was a tough but sweet cat named Pudding who taught K how wonderful a cat friend can be. (We 'borrowed' Pudding for a month when K was a tiny puppy so she'd learn to be good to cats). We need a cat like Pudding to put R in his place and then make friends with him!
We're just stopping by to say HI.
XOXO
