Today all we got is a new washer and drier. My Mom says when you get old everything starts breaking down about the time you do! She thinks that things lasted her parents a whole lot longer than they do her.
She had a lot of years (about 25) on the washer but she heard of someone the other day who only got seven years. Pitiful!
Dog Challenge
We were just over to Joe Stain's blog and his Mom replaced the couch in her livingroom because she said Joe and Tanner ruined it. A little guy named Fred commented and so did Dennis the Viszla. That made me think about how much money goes up the chimney for ruined by dogs furniture. Now I know Dennis is a champ, but so are the Thundering Herd. So here is what you do. Just send me a note at letoile@arvig.net
telling me what you ruined and how much it cost to replace it. Then when we get some entries in we will give a prize to the biggest, baddest shredder and one second prize. Cats can join in but I really doubt they have the jaw power for this game. We'll make November 30 the final date. Share this with your friends too. We want to see some big numbers here! A picture won't hurt, but we'll take your word!
Kisses,
Stella

We're just not the destructive type. Well... as Sibes we are, but "we" just aren't.

Hi Stella, our mum could certainly tell you some stories of other dogs she has had - one even ate the stairs!!!!
Petra was a GSD that mum had from six weeks until she was fourteen.
She was dreadful but finally, thankfully, settled down but she chewed through the carpet and stair treads one day when she was on her own!
We are not destructive at all. Martha pees when she is frightened so we have had to replace a couple of rugs!
Thats about it though.
We look forward to reading your tales of destruction. Always funny when it is someone else!!!!

The TH will win this one, hands down, no doubt about it.
Woos, the OP Pack
I have never destroyed anything except my toys, because I am an honorary husky and I take my job seriously.
You make me wish I'd destroyed something. ;)

Holy Cow! I have never seen such a thing! YIKES!!!
Bummer... the one bad thing that my dogs have never done is destroy furniture. So I can't enter your contest. So sad... maybe I'll douse my couch in chicken broth to solve this deficiency!
Sorry to disappoint woo but not my style to do stuff like that!
I do know Dennis and The Herd have done some furry inkhredible work!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
woah. Darwin hasn't destroyed furniture (thank goodness) just her toys lately.
WOW...we don't shred anything but Mama is going to have to replace our rug 'cause Bilbo has gone potty ALL OVER IT!!
*sigh*...Brothers!
Smileys!
Dory
Hi, Stella!
My mom thinks the same. Appliances don't last now how it used to last!
I have never destroyed anything! But I am sure you will get very interesting stories!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
The MFRs finally realized that if they made things that lasted a long time you wouldn't buy as many :-( sad for the landfill too.
The only damage my moose has done to furniture is leave drool that is IMPOSSIBLE to clean off and that won't begin to compare to some doggie's destruction! Phew, lucky for me I guess! Sounds like an entertaining contest so we look forward to the entries!

Oh dear, I cannot compete with those pieces of art. The worst I did was gnaw on the table legs a bit.
Slobbers,
Mango
that is a great idea!
Sorry, Stella., but I haven't ruined a single thing in the house, so I guess I don't qualify...

Tsar is our champion destroyer. He ate a loveseat and part of the matching couch, then he ate a hole in the wall to wall carpet smack in the middle of the room. The sofa and loveseat have been replaced, but the carpet with the hole is still there with an area rug over it. Mom says one of these days we'll replace it, too.
The worst thing we have done is chew up a throw rug. We haven't gotten into much trouble.
