A Fun Day!

Hi Pups and Kitties:

First of all, I want to assure Mango that I am not turning into a diva like Lacie or Asta. The dress you saw me in yesterday's post was done by Petey's Mom for me to wear to Petey and Rosie's big wedding and I just love it so I wanted to wear it one more time. Now I am packing it away! So, no worries about that!

Yesterday was a really nice day here, not too hot or anything so my Mom and I went for a long walk. We started out to just have a nice walk around town, but then Mom thought it would be fun to go to the lake. It is only a mile south of where we live.
The first thing you see when you get there is the Pavilion and the Marina.
Lots of boats out on the lake from
Spring to Fall, then it gets cold and they build little houses on the frozen lake and go ice-fishing!
People like to walk along the lake in the warm weather, its pretty and it smells nice.
I like to get in the water and splash around.
I have a water bucket on my porch and I stick my head in it and throw the water around . Thats what I did in the lake and it was fun. There were some little kids there laughing and then, they did the same thing!
Then we sat on the bench and grass and just got dried off a little. We visited with some peoples we didn't know and had a nice time with them.
Then we started out for home. I had such a good time I told Mom we needed to come here again, because its only a couple of miles for the whole walk.
Our town is a tourist town and the population doubles in the summertime. The worst month is July, its peoples everywhere and motor bikes and they shoot off fireworks and stuff like that. I don't want to come then, but August gets very
nice and September will be even better if it stays
nice out.

So for now, I say bye and have a nice
Sunday!
Kisses,
Stella

Hi Stella
What a perfect day you had - we hope the weather does stay nice so you get to go again.
We agree it is best to avoid July - we hate fireworks!
We loved your pictures - especially the ones where you are all wet.
We liked your dress yesterday and you can be a diva if you want to!
Keep it and next time there is a party it will be handy.

Hurruf Stella!
What a pawfect day. The weather looked so lovely and sunny. I live in a tourist town too, so I don't get to go to my beach a lot in the summer (Mum said what summer, cos it raining a lot and making her grumpy, but technically it does still be summer) anyways... You looked great having fun in the water and all wet after. I bet you made those childrens day showing them a new game.

Stella, it sounds like you were being a bad influence, getting kids to stick their heads in water and throw it around??? I'm surprised at you! You shouldn't give away your best tricks like that...!
BOL, just kidding! I bet it was pretty funny. I'm glad you had a great day!

We live in a tourist town, so we understand. Starting to get quiet now because school is back in session, but then will get busy in October (leaf changing season) and then the ski resort opens in November. But winter is MUCH quieter around here because so many of the Park Service roads are closed to cars (which means open to us!).

Not a bad day! Our Sunday was a bit more boring. Making trouble requires serious rest. ;)

Hi Stella,
That sounds like a perfectly lovely walk. And I the splashy water photo was great! I suspect that your 'not too hot' would still be a lot hotter than it was here this weekend. It rained all yesterday but after putting sustained pressure on Gail, I did eventually get taken out.
Hope you have a nice week.
Cheers, H.

What a wonderful day you had with your mom! I understand what you mean about tourists overcrowding your home. In the summer time people from all over the world come to my island and take over my beach. They also crowd all my favorite parks and picnic areas and the locals here shoot off far too many fireworks for their festivals and the weekly bull runs. I can't wait till the summer is over, because that means no more fireworks and I'll finally be able to go back to my beach!
