Hi Pups and Kitties! Now that Laska is home we can all rest easier, can't we? That had to be a rough few days for a dog, but I hope people were kind to him along the way.
Last week Mango's Mom recommended this book for us to read and we want to recommend it to anybody who loves dogs (anyone like that here?) It is wildly funny, and quite irreverent in places. But we loved it! Mostly our books come from our local library and this one was no exception.
One part of it made me think of The Thundering Herd when they were rolling in some grassy scent: The main character in the book can communicate with his dogs and one of them was in a grassy area and said " Best taste in the world,"he said, pushing his head into a pile of dead grass. When he emerged, he was chewing contentedly. "Unidentifiable chewy thing that's been aging in dirt. I'd offer you some, but I'm not wired for sharing."
This book was written by Merrill Markoe who was once a writer for David Letterman.
Cheers and hugs,
Stella's Mom

That sounds like a good book. Our momma looks at Mr. Letterman some nights when we are all cuddled on the sofa together. We don't watch. We sleep.
Thanks for the book alert - Mom says she will have to check it out.

We love to have book recommendations. I wonder if our library here in Aberdeen has it? I will take Gail along there to see. I think it would be good for her to read about how dogs don't like to share food!
Cheers, H.

That looks like a great book. I'll get mummy to add it to the other books about dogs she has lined up on her shelf waiting to be read! BOL :o)
Our mom LOVED one of her books- "Walking in Circles before Lying Down" so we can't wait for her to read this one!
Cool! Thanks for the recommendation.

Hi Stella! The book seems to be pawsome!

I am glad you liked that book. It was nice to hear doggies say what they are really thinking.
I did feel bad for the poor adopted doggie who was always afraid she would get beat up or tossed aside. Our little Pi was like that. Even after eight years of love and safety, she was still always hand shy.

We will check it out (specially since a part reminded you of us). Our hu-dad is one of those Kindle people, but makes shopping easy!
We love the Letterman show, we will have to check it out. We are so excited Laska is home!
