What a terrific day!

Hi there every pup and kitty! Today was the first furry nice day we have had in such a long time. It was 38 degrees ABOVE zero F today and that is balmy for us. We went for a long
walk and the streets were all clear and even most of the sidewalks. It was sunny and pretty . . .who could ask for more than that!

My Mom said she would take me by the Pet Shop and we could look at the puppies in the window (I just love to do this!) Those little bitty guys bark at me . . .like I'm gonna get scared!

My Mom is worried about her friend in Paducah where the bad ice storm was. For a change someone got worse weather than we did. Patience is giving us updates but we haven't heard from Mrs. D yet. She is actually a very good friend of mine too because she gave me the Honking Sheep and Earl the Chicken, I love those guys.

We want to tell you about a new for us blog we are readin'. Its about a elderly Westie named Hamish who lives in Scotland. If you don't know him, go take a look at http://hamishthewestie.blogspot.com/ and prepare to have a chuckle or two. I especially like his post about Prez Obama and getting his girls a dog and whats the delay! He is a spunky guy!

All for now evfurry body. Have a good rest of the weekend!

Kisses,
Stella

You should know that Otis got sick and couldn't be Mike's Best Dog, and I am happily sending on the list of 40 things to Dannan, Khyra, and Princess Eva!
Cheers and happy weekend!

A Friday Sort of list . . .

Miss Kylie has tagged me for a list of 40 things that will
tell you about me. Since I am only two years old, I don't think I have that many things yet. So I will share some with my Mom and maybe we will come up with 30 if you are lucky (or not!).
1.This is what I looked like when I lived in a cage at the slammer for three months. (See below)
2. My Mom came out to volunteer and she looked at a lot of dogs. But she took me, without even taking me out of my cage, or anything. She just talked to me and knew we was meant for each other. Then number 3 is that when I came to her house, I didn't want to ever go outside again. It was October and very nice, but I thought if I just stayed on her bed, I would never get stuck in the slammer again. We worked things out though! hahaha! 4. is I love squeaky toys, you all know that. 5. is that I am sweet on Dannan, did you see him run, he goes a hundred miles an hour!. 6. is Khyra the Sibe is my pal and my confidant.7. is I love raw ground beef or beef bones or cooked beef. 8 is I love to play in the snow.
9 is , lets see, what is 9. It could be that I am not what I thought I was, Miss Kylie's Mom thinks I am part Flat Coated Retriever and part Border Collie and I like the sound of that. Miss Kylie and I look just alike. 10 is I love my human brother and sister inlaw even though I hardly get to see them 11. I am scared silly of storms. Thats about all for me! Now I will tell some things about my Mom. She just had her 70th birthday last November but she says she only feels that old when I am pulling on the leash! haw! 2. She is funny. 3. She got her first Dog when she was only one year old as a present from her Grandpa and it was a Boston Terrier someone named Stubby. Stubby was her best pal until she was 12 and he was hit by a car. She said it was like losing her brother.Thats why she loves Joe Stains. 4. She grew up in Minnesota as an only adopted kid (like me!).5. She worked at lots of different things but her last job was a volunteer administrator. 6. She is and always has been a Democrat (I think thats good, is it?). 7. She loves to sew, knit, with quilting being a big favorite. 8. When she came home 18 years ago (from North Carolina) she hoped to find her Dionne Qintuplet Paper Doll book still there and that it wasn't is her life's biggest disappointment. (I don't get that at all.) 9.She is very deaf and relies on captioning for TV and movies.(This is why I am a VIP to her, because I can hear things for her and tell her with woofs what it is! I love that I can be of help to her.)
10. She loves movies of all kinds but is partial to independents and foreign films and her DVD player is one of her favorite things. 11. She is the most disorganized person in Minnesota. (I don't get that either.)
OK, we are done with the list because we are tired of it and so we had some pictures ready but Blogger is not co-operating so we will put them up tomorrow if we can. I hate this picture of me in the slammer, but you can see by the blog I am way prettier now. Pawed by me, Stella, for me and Mom.
Kisses, Stella

We're Sewing Today!

Me and my Mom are furry, furry busy today and we don't have too much time to be writing. We are making kittie hammocks for our Shelter like this little guy is snoozing in, in the picture. These are furry easy to make and the directions are all on http://www.irene-sheehy.com/cat-hammocks.htm if you or someone you know would like to do somthing nice for your shelter. We want to do this, because even though our kitty doesn't like me much, others who don't have homes and just live in a cage, deserve a nice cushy place to sleep, don't you think?
Now Dave of the Army of Four asked me to post one of my Mom's quilt pictures and so I will do that tomorrow and also have a picture of me in a tuxedo she made for the late Otis to wear to a wedding he was invited to. So stay tuned, as they say on the radio, and you will see some good stuff.
Now we go off to sew!

Stella

If its Tuesday, its Ali Z!

Hello . .. No, no video of me coming down the stairs. Sorry just a certain person couldn't figure out how to do it without the book she can't find after me slinky-ing down the stairs about 10 times. Who knows, she may find the book that tells her how to do it, stranger things have happened.

But here is me nervously looking down the stairs wondering where that dog is, Stella by name. She loves to sit down there where I can't see her and jump at me. I know shes there but it is just creepy to have her do that. Of course you know who tells her, No-No Stella, no jumping, and of course Stella could care less. Mom needs to take pack leader lessons from Cesar
and maybe she could get (I am not allowed to call Stella any rude names anymore since Khyra doesn't like it.) Sweet Stella to listen to her.

What I want to know is how Huffle got to be an Honerary Husky. Maybe if I did that I could know how to put a little fear into Stella. Maybe you get lessons with the title. . .whoever knows about this, please tell me. My first family de-clawed me when I was just a baby and so I am somewhat defenseless, except for a mouthful of very sharp teeth. My Mom says she never would do that to a kitty and I'm sorry I didn't get her for my first Mom.

Alright, thats enough for today. I'm going to go see what Tanner Tork has to say. All he talks about is his pimple but we will see what he says today.

Sunday, Sunday!

Hi all you pups and kitties:

Today is a furry pretty sunshiney day, but furry, furry cold. It was 25 below last night and its about 13 below this morning. Woooo! No place to go and nothing to do except sleep and play cards and I don't know how to play cards. Its that thumb deal again!

Yesterday Khyra introduced me to a new pupkid named Miss Kylie because she looks a whole lot like me! I wrote her and her Mom said she is a flat coated retriever/border collie and that is what I could be too. That is possible I suppose because there is lots of bird hunting going on here and you need a good retriever! That sounds like fun, I think I might try it. I wanted to tell you, you can meet Miss Kylie at http://misskyliem.wordpress.com/ and I think you will like her.
All fur now, my friends, wish for spring to come pretty soon, OK?
Kisses,
Stella

Tag! You're It!

The very handsome Ludo Von Puppy tagged us to play the fifth game. The fifth photo in the fifth photo file and what we came up with was my Mom's late Scottie dog, Otis Pupguy:

He was about 13 in this picture and he lived to be 16 years old. My Mom can get a little teary over this guy because she loved him very much and they were together for a long time. We are not going to name people to do this, but anyone who would like to play, please just join right in and you can say Stella sent you!

Happy Friday evfurry buddy!

Kisses,

Stella

Snow Bank Girl!

Hi all you Pups and Kitties!

Just returned from a nice walk with Mom. She says it was not nice because I just went a little nutty and had fun sniffing and digging in the snow, but I am sure she is just kidding me! Don't you think?

We finally have nice weather to walk in, or pretty good anyway. Its still slick but it is not so cold, up in the 25s F. which is a big improve over the subzero stuff we had.

Here is some good Ali Z news. Last night my Mom was holding her and she got up her courage, got down on the floor, and walked right past me to get to her gate. I got pretty excited and Mom kept saying Stel -l- l -la be good, and so I mostly was, and she did it. So Mom says that is a big deal for her and we will keep on bringing her downstairs and letting her go back up. Everybody liked her Slinky picture and she does it all the way down most a the time. Our camera has a little video thing so maybe we will try that for Ali Z Tuesday! If she gets a day on the blog, and can come down with us she will feel more like a real part of our family, not just someone who has to hide. Awww, that makes me feel sad.

High point of blogging week: That Tanner Stains thinks he can fill in for Barack Obama when he goes on vacation because they both have smart dots on their faces. Some things are just too hysterikal!

Kisses,
Stella

If its Tuesday, its Ali Z

Hi there Kitties and you K-9's:

Its gonna be my show every Tuesday, Mom said I could. So I'll just slinky down the stairs and say a few things.

Mom and Stella have been watchin' TV all day anyway about getting the number 44 president Mr. O'Bama. My Mom and Stella think he is a great guy,but Stella just goes along with anything Mom says. Me, I don't have any like for him at all. Oh, he looks like a nice guy but he promised to buy his little daughters a DOG when they moved into the Wite House. Our house is Wite so I don't see the big deal about that. But what he doesn't know is he is getting them the WRONG pet. Oh, so wrong. A nice little kitty would be perfect for those girls and they wouldn't have to worry about Visitors to the house getting Bitten which we all know you Dogs love to do.

So that is my opinion about today's events. Me and Stella are not loose with each other yet, but my Mom is trying so hard. She carries me into the room where she and Dumbo watch TV, and she holds me. You know who makes a big flying lunge for me, and Mom says you are OK, I will take care of you. But who knows, I don't trust either of them much or at all.

Tune in next Tuesday and see what gives, I gotta go read Tanner's version of the events. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near either Joe or Tanner but reading their Baloney is OK.

Bye,

Ali Zophia

I'm the Champeen!

Of all the dogs that can dive into deep snow and find a ball, I am one of the very best to do it and come up with the ball. I love this game because I get to stick my head down in the deep snow and use my sniffer!

Spencer, on the other hand, is a champeen at 'sploding stuffees. Here is a picture of our late, great pink rabbit. And he seems to be having fun while he is murdering them, thats what I don't understand!

Its warmer today and we been outside for a good while.

We hope its nice wherever you are and that you are having a furry, furry nice Sunday. (No sun here though! Maybe more snowing later!)

Kisses,

Stella

Spencer's Here!

Do you remember the handsome Spencer from another post? He is such a nice boy and his Dad was going to visit his feeonsay for the weekend. Because its so cold, he wanted to find a good place for Spencer to stay and knew that we loved him. He is older than me, he is 9 and I am 2, but we get along OK, until he gets tired of my antics.

Here is a pome my Mom found on the 'net today. It didn't have any arthur to it, so she changed Wyoming to Minniesnowda, which is Princess Eva's Mom's invention:

It's winter in Minniesnowda
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Minniesnowda
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Minniesnowda
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

And thats the truth!

Happy weekend evfurry buddy!

Kisses,
Stella

Today I am furry much influenced by Khyra, who is joining Eduardo's work team. I know that I have two furry good talents for works and I will tell you about them.

One is I am a furry good watching dog. That is, like in this picture, I am watching for a disturbance in my yard and once I get it, I will bark up a storm so my Mom knows about it!

The other thing I like to do is a more artistical thing and that is I like to arrange my stuffees across the doorways. They look very nice that way and its like decorating my home. Since I have lots of stuffees, I can decorate several doorways and make my home look much prettier. My Mom says its definitely a lived in look, which has to be good, right?

Well, go take a look at Khyra's blog today, and join us in the fun. I know there are many talented animals out there and we can have a good time showing off all we can do.

Its too cold to go outside today except for very quick trips to the backyard,
so I think I will do the livingroom doorway today. Just so you know, it was
31 below F zero this morning and they are predicting wind chills up to 54 below zero, which is furry, furry dangerous to freeze your face and feeties!

Kisses,
Stella

Pee-ess: This is from Stella's Mom. I wanted you to see how she "improves" her doorway arrangements and I am sure you will agree that this is a definite improvement. Kyhra sent her a box of wonderful things and two of them were stuffee Siberians! One is a beanie and one is a squeaker. She used the beanie Sibe to improve her doorway arrangement. (Top photo)

An Award from Thor!

Look at the furry nice award we have received from our friend Thor, in Brazil.

Here's the Friend Bloggy Award Scoop: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

This award goes from me to the beautiful Khrya, The OP Pack, my special friend Dannan of the Little Brown Dog Blog, Princess Eva and Brice, the Duke of Destruction, River, Ludo, Ludwig von Puppy, and lovely Lorenza!

Please pick it up and pass it on to 8 more deserving bloggers.

Kisses,
Stella

Ali Zophia signing in . . .

On Tuesdays that Stain guy lets his little brother post, so today I am posting.

This is a picture of me in the old days, when I could roam around my house, look in drawers and find different things. I even liked to go upstairs then and nose around and my Mom didn't even care if I did.

Now its a little different. I LIVE upstairs, and come down to a gated area, to eat and drink. Everytime I do, this face greets me. When she is in the house, she stays by the gate, JUST IN CASE I might come downstairs and JUST IN CASE the gate might fall down and Stella could "play" with me. I can't imagine anything worser. When I come down, I go right to the gate and meow at her, so I show her I am not afraid of her. Oh, but I am, so scared. My Mom says I don't have to be, she will always take care of me. But she is the one who brought that DOG here! She said she knew I grew up with a dog and I did but it was a fat, lazy little cocker spaniel who didn't even like to move around much.

So I am comfy upstairs, and I get good eats and all that. I just wish Stella would go away, thats all.

Good wishes to you all,

Ali Z

Sunday Snooze

Hello there K-9s and Kitties! Its sunny here today, but only 6 degrees so I am taking a nap until it warms up a little and then maybe we will go for a walk. I like to have my stuffees sleep with me and I think they like it too!
First of all, on the Ali Z front, I think things are getting better. The gate is always up but now she comes downstairs more and always finds me laying by the gate. She looks, and meows something to me, and thats it. But she didn't do it before! I don't understand meows and maybe she said, "Not in your lifetime, bozo, will you ever get closer to me" but maybe it was something nicer too. I will keep you up on this.
The snow thing: I get daily requests for snow from people in tropical kinds of countrys, like Malaysia and Oztralia, and there is little you can do, as I understand it, to get snow in those kinds of places WITHOUT a snow machine which Princess Eva and Brice recommend. Unless maybe your peoples would like to swap residences for the winter months. You and your family could come to Minnesota and live in our house and we could come to Malaysia or whatever tropical place you live in and stay in your digs for the winter. You have to discuss this carefully with your peoples though, and see if you want to be sitting on a snowbank all winter, paying heat bills that my Mom says are outrageous. I don't have any concern for them, whatever they are.
So thats the story for today. Happy Sunday to all you animals and humans,
with
Kisses!
Stella

Can We Talk?

Good Friday to Evfurry buddy today!
One thing I most often get in the comments sections (and both me and my Mom love your comments!) is that I should SEND you some SNOW. Lots of you Northern types, Sibes and Mals love the snow, but you are living someplace where it doesn't come. So
Princess Eva and Brice and me we was going to get a truck to bring you some, especially Khyra who is our furry good friend and is needy for snow. BUT we cannot do that. If we did get a cooler truck, the snow would thaw as soon as it arrives. And its a pricey haul although with us three money is of no concern at all. Its just that it will only last a minute or two, and you would be disappointed all over again.
So, always a solution to evfurry problem, right? It seems like what you would have to do is speak with your local weather person on TV or in the newspaper and see if that person couldn't come up with a snow forecast for you, perferably one with at least 10-12 inches of snow (you need that much to really have a good time in it!) Lets see if you guys who want snow can do this and let us know if it works. Otherwise I am sort of at a lost to know what to tell you. Maybe Princess Eva or Brice will have some more ideas, they are smart canines and may be able to figure something else out.
You guys in the Southern Hemospere are sort of out of luck, from what I can understand.
So, in the meantime, I will play for you in the snow, wishing and hoping you can get your furry own!
Let me know if you are able to contact your weather peoples for help.
Kisses,
Stella

All the News from Minniesnowda!

We just got back from our longest walk! The city plowed out the sidewalks so we could have nice walkin'. Thanks City!

Weather news: We are down for another snow storm tomorrow with an additional six inches of new snow predickted. Every body says they are going nutz with all this snow. But I still like it even if no one else does!

Yesterday the UPS guy stopped and left us this box. It has a pitcher of a DOG on it and I thought Mom ordered me a brother or sister! Wouldn't you think that? But sadly, no, it was one of those cleaner suckup things that take the pet hair and dirt out of the rugs. I hate those things. They make way too much noise and who needs them for just a little dog hair, no matter about that. It makes the floor warmer!

So here is what the monster looks like and I dread when she runs it and it starts roaring. Thats when I leave the room. No, I am not scared about it, I just hate the noise.

Thats it for today, furends, and you can look for me on Friday or sooner if the storm is big and good to report! In the meantime, I will be dodging the monster.
By the way, did you see Dannan's blog?
The Little Brown Dog's Blog is the name of it.
His girl made a special picture for me because I am kind of sweet on Dannan and he does this lip thing that makes him sneer like Elvis. Too cool!
Kisses,
Stella

Warming Up?

Last night it was 21 below zero and right now at 10:45 am, its 4 below zero. That is an improvement, but I still don't know if I can talk Mom into a walk!

As far as my revolushun goes, to make friends with the Cat Ali Z, so far its not so good. The gate is up and even if she sniffs me, she takes off running for upstairs. The lovely Sophie Brador offered the advice that no matter what I don't try to pick her up. Thats accepted, Sophie, and a good idea. Sophie's boyfriend Joe Stains asked if I needed a bullet proof vest or a helmet and I think that might be a good idea, too. Maybe Joe has these items laying around his house and will send them on. If not maybe I can talk Mom into buying them for me. Then I can go upstairs and talk to her privitley. That might be good if I can stay calm, but she does excite me! Wish me well with this, please.

Above is a picture of me in my yard, and one with snow on my nose. I love to stick my snout in the snow!
Kisses!

Saturday Snow!

We are supposed to get from 6-10 inches of NEW snow from 6 am Saturday through 6pm Sunday. That will pretty much take care of the walkies, won't it? So far, that is about 40 inches of snow and its only January, we have more months that could bring us snow! We could get totally covered!

Here is some news for you. I have a New Year Revolushun! I am going to make friends with Ali Z the cat, and get her to come downstairs and live with us. My Mom says that will be the day! But if I am quiet and gentle, I can do it. My Mom says that will be the day! I might surprise her AND Ali Z.

We did walkies to the Pee-Oh today and mailed some packages, and then took the long way home. It was fun.

I hope you have fun today and are not getting berried by SNOW.

Kisses,

Stella

This is a big deal, to get a New Year. My Mom has some ideas for what she wants to do in the New Year and they are resolushuns. I don't think I have any, just keep doggin' around. We started out by doing some housekeeping today, and my stuffees was all over everywhere. So my Mom and I picked them up and they was 18 of them she said. She put them in the corner and said lets leave these here for a while. So I just took one for a quick squeak or two and she didn't say anything about it, so maybe I will try for a couple more later. Happy New Year and if you make revolushuns, tell me what they are, please. Kisses,Stella
