Sick Saturday

Hi Evfurry Body!

This is just an announcement to tell you that we won't be around much this week. My Mom got sick last Tuesday and is not up to blogging right now, she has some Vet appts and maybe surgery in her future. So we are finding a home for me to stay in and we will let you know more when we know more.

We will miss you but hope to be back soonest!

You're Gonna Love This!

Late today, my Mom and I walked some errands. To the PeeOh, and the Libary and just window shopping. My Mom says to me, "You are walking perfect, Stella, just perfect!" And I was, I was being careful, no lunging, no jumping around, just nice stuff. The reason why I was being so good is that my Mom is kind of depressed and sad about the crummy weather we are having, its dark and dismal from morning to night. So I thought I could cheer her up by just strolling along with her in a happy way. She loved it!

Want to know what she thought? She thought its because every weekend we watch Victoria the Dog Trainer, or Cesar, or Pat that guy at Dogtown, and she thought I was FINALLY GETTING IT! Just from watching those guys! BOL BOL!

Ah, she is so goofy, I just loves her, she makes me laugh everyday!

So you guys who are not such good walkers, just one day, walk real nice, and see how excited you can make your pawrents. Try it! Its funny and fun to do.

Ah, and its just the beginning of the week!

Kisses,
Stella

This is Spring??

So this is what it is looking like in my neighborhood, you can see that much of our snow is going, going, gone. Temps in the 30s, rain coming down.
Mom says we have never had floods here in my little town, and I feel sure we won't this year either, its just such a mess! Once the ground dries up a little, and it's very wet from all that snow, we can start cleaning and raking. I don't do that work, but I do pick up branches. That and finding last summers tennis balls and frisbees. That can be fun.

Our friends in Fargo, North Dakota are facing a serious flood this year. Here is a little info: << FROM BAD TO WORSE: Forecast flood crest earlier, higher than first thought
F-M area steps up efforts upon hearing newsFargo-Moorhead and surrounding areas were inundated with bad news Sunday with a new predicted Red River flood crest that now could reach 39 to 41 feet and arrive as early as Friday – a foot higher and day earlier than originally forecast.>> On the Minnesota side, the Buffalo River is very high and because of the excess of snow we got this winter, plus two days of rain yesterday and today, it all looks quite bad for these folks. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers!
I wisht we had something fun to talk about with you, but its very dismal looking out there and we are a little worried about our friends in Fargo.
Here is a joke a friend sent us, see if you like it:
A little boy asks: Daddy, how was I born?DAD SAYS: Ah, my son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!Well, you see your Mom and I first got together in a chatroom on MSN.Then I set up a date via e-mail with your mom and we met at a cyber-cafe.We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later ablessed little Pop- Up appeared and said: You've Got Male!
I don't get it. Do you?
Kisses,
Stella

Friday Roundup

Hi Pups and Kitties!

Sometimes on Friday I like to tell you about a great blog I have seen over the week and this weeks winner for sure is Beagadoon, the play starring lots of our blogging buddies. If you haven't seen it, don't miss it at Petey's
http://peteysplayhouse.blogspot.com/ . Petey and Joey were the male leads, Rosie Dughallmor was there, ah, there were just so many excellent pups I can't even remember all the names, I'm sorry to say, but I loved the show and you will too!

You know I do love little Ludo and he had some great photos on his blog this week of him at the beach. One picture of him flying across the sand.
You'll find that at http://ludwigvanpup.blogspot.com/ .

I'm sure you have all seen Khyra's blog but she had a reunion of several Sibes in her family and what a reunion it was! If you haven't seen it, take a look at http://khyraskhorner.blogspot.com/.

Say, and wasn't it good to see Pacco de Mongrel back. He is one of my Mom's favorites and has been away for a while http://pacco.blogspot.com/

No pics today, we are having rainy weather which will be good for us to get rid of more snow, not so good for our neighbor communities who are on rivers and face flooding.

We have a package to mail at the Pee-oh, and my Mom says we are gonna take a tip from Princess Rain-Cloud and just get out there and do it. We only have a couple of blocks to walk, but I hope its not too rainy!

Happy weekend to all!

Kisses,
Stella

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Here is an Irish Blessing for St. Pat's Day we are sharing with all of you!
My Mom is Irish and she says this is her favorite: "God invented whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the world". I don't get it though.
Happy Day to all of you,
Kisses from Stella and Mom

Hammock Tester

Here I am, its Tuesday, and you may wish to know what I am doing here. Some of you know my Mom was making Kitty Hammocks for the shelter and she was doing some final machine quilting on them. She got up for the door so I decided I should test these things even if they are not hanging.

This one is made out of polar fleece and it is soooo cozy. I told Mom I would like one of these, maybe not such a loud color scheme, and she said she would think about where to hang it for me. Now that is something nice to look forward to!

Stella and I remain so-so friends. She chases me every chance she gets if she thinks Mom isn't looking. So she did it last night and Mom caught her at it and scolded her. I doubt it will help though.

I want to welcome Huffle back from her vacation. I missed her when she was away and I hope the bugs aren't bugging her too much.

We are getting warmer weather, our snow keeps melting and that is a very good thing! Huffle asked me if I got chilled out in the snow! I never go outside unless I just sit on the porch with Mom. I am called an indoor cat because my first owner (not my Mom!) declawed me and that is why I used to be so scared of Stella,no defense, but now I know her better and I am not QUITE so scared as I was. Mostly I am just p.o.'d at her.

Wishing you all a happy, Spring-y week!

Meow,
Ali Zophia (I prefer to be called by my whole name, not Ali Z)

45 degrees and thawing!

Hi there Pups and Kitties!

I haven't written since last Thursday and we had a big snowstorm about that time, so the late comers to the blog all say "More Snow . . .what to do" and even Joe Stains offered to shine his fan toward us, allowing his 90 degree weather to thaw us fast!

So we have had no snow since, and our temps are in the 40s and we get a little wind all of which helps the snow to melt. Here is a picture of me, on our little backporch which is finally snow free and I can lay on it without freezing my belly! HAW! I can see somethings from here and one of them is the paperboy footprints look like they are getting shallower. When they were first there, they were very deep!
Now here is a picture of what I see. You might look at others I have sent and say that is the same thing, but it isn't. This was just taken today. The 10" we got a week ago, set us back a little, but there is less snow than there was.

Here is the driveway and that is pretty much snow free all the way to the road. Except for one bad thing and that is water and ice at the end of the drive. We all need some deep boots here for a while!

My Mom made some dog cookies today and she forgot them and they burned in the oven. Shabby baking, Mom! She said she would try it again when she wasn't so interested in the TV News.
A couple of fun things to see this week and one was Hamish, the little Westie who lives in Scotland who drove over to go for a walk with the Dughallmor Beagles. What a totally neat thing!
The second thing is that it is Stormy of the Army of Four who is having an anniversary of the day her Mom and Dad came to get her from a family who didn't want her. Can you imagine anybody who wouldn't want Stormy, I sure can't!
I hope you are all having a happy weekend. My Mom is busy doing some special things but we might get some walk time in pretty soon.
Kisses,
Stella

More pressies

Hi Pups and Kitties! Yesterday when my Mom was taking pictures of the nice presents the Dughallmor Beagles sent us the battery in our camera died! So we just posted what we could get yesterday. So here are two more things you can look at. The first one is me and a beautiful ribbon with the Dughallmor's name on it and MY name on the ribbon part. Its very special and I think I will hang it up over where I sleep. My Mom apologizes for the quality of this picture, but she says she has three more just like it! Then she goes "Arrrghh" or something like that.

Then the next picture is the letter from the donation they made, and the treats that they sent me. How I love treats! All us Pups do, don't we? Also everyone is happy for the donation. So here is another big thank you to Snoop, Alfie, Rosie, Gabbi and Nicky, their Mom

So you know we got a huge blizzard of more and more snow this week and except for the fact its sparkly white and clean, nobody likes it. If it all thaws at one time we will need boats to get around in!
Kisses,
Stella

Pay It Forward and Thanks!

Written by Jo, the Mom of Stella:

The wonderful Dughallmor Beagles got us into Pay it Forward and yesterday we received a very lovely package from Scotland! Stella told Nicky, the Dughallmor's Mum, what she wanted in her package! The nerve of her, but she got what she asked for! One was a nice group picture of the Beagles and the other was a souvenier of Scotland that she could wear on her collar! That turned out to be a St. Andrews flag and she was thrilled with it.

Ali Z got a gift of a flashy little dragon fly toy which she just loves. We played a while and then put it up so it hung from her little house she likes to play in. The knots in it were tied by a retired Sumo wrestler but I finally got them undone!
Nicky also included several packs of doggy treats, and one Mom treat of fudge, which I have needed very badly! It was very special and very good and just isn't lasting like it should.

The best thing was a donation of $10 which went to RSPCA Victoria Bush Fire Appeal. All in all, this was most fun, and a good thing not just for us but the Fire Appeal as well.

Would you like to join in for Pay It Forward? Here are the rules. "The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way. This is how it works... We are going to agree to send something fun, inspiring or uplifting to the first 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn you will then post about this on your blog, link to us, then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness doesn't have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around." SO PAY IT FORWARD...
So if you want to play along, leave a comment....the first three will receive a small gift and agree to Pay it Forward. If you are one of the first three to leave a comment, please send your postal address to letoile@arvig.net.

We have had loads of fun with this, and thank Nicky very much for her kind and generous gifts.

Kisses,

Jo and Stella

Peeess: We now have our three Paw it Forward players!

Its Tuesday and Its me, Ali Z!

Hi All you Kitties and Pups!

Here is a picture of me, sitting at the kitchen table, all relaxed and comfy. Then I get a visitor!
Stella always has some good idea about me going off in the other room with her, but I tell her no, I am comfy where I am.

I am not so scared of her anymore though, even after she put her mouth on my head. She has lots of chances to be mean to me and she doesn't. I think she does want to be friends and play, but she is just too rough for a cat. Now almost all of my time is spent downstairs with Stella and our Mom. I still go upstairs for my afternoon nap though, but I have done that all the time I lived here. Us cats are kind of kwerky sometimes.

The weather is very bad here and both Mom and Stella have what they call Cabin Fever. Its been warmer, thawed some, then froze so there is ice under the snow and its very hard walking around, which both Mom and Stella like to do. Tonight its snowing and winding and very unpleasant out there. We are going to be getting lots more snow.

My Mom said when the weather gets nice she will get a little harness and leash for me and I could go walking with her and Stella.
That will be the day! hehe! I'm glad we are all friends, but THAT is really pushing it!

So I wish everyfurry one good food, good health and good sleeps.

Send Snow Eaters - - -Urgent!

Does this look like a place that needs more snow to you?? After reading Khyra's Sadurday post about her puny amount of snow being taken by the snow eaters and not having any more left, I had Mom take some today pictures. We have lots of snow left even after some is thawed away. By the way, just so you understand, we lives in West Central Minnesota and here is our forecast for Sunday night and Monday:

Subject: Special Weather Statement > Special Weather Statement> Statement as of 5:58 AM CST on March 07, 2009> > ...Significant snow possible early next week...> > Two rounds of accumulating snow could impact eastern North Dakota...> northwest and west central Minnesota early next week. The first of> two storms is expected to impact the region Sunday night through> Monday. Light to moderate banded snow may result in significant> accumulations...although it is still uncertain where the heaviest> snow may fall. drifting snow.> > The second storm is expected to impact the region Monday night > through Tuesday. This storm has the potential to produce> additional significant snowfall along with considerable blowing> and drifting snow that may negatively impact regional travel. > The exact storm track remains in question and as such...it is too> early to determine where the heaviest snow may fall. >>
So you see peoples, we need no more snow. NO MORE SNOW. We got plenty and don't want to be greedies. So, send it to Khrya, and the rest of the snow dogs that will be happy for it. For us, we want better walking, and no more icies under the feets. NO MORE SNOW!
Do your best to have a furry nice weekend and I will be praying for snow--FOR YOU, not me!
Kisses,
Stella
Peeess: Its Joe Stain's 10th birthday! If you haven't stopped by his blog to wish him a happy birthday, do it now. Its lasting several days and he is calling it a Joeypalooza Celebration. His blog was the first one my Mom ever read and gave her the idea for me to have a blog too. So, thanks, Joe!

I DID A BAD!

Do you want to know what I did? If I tell you I don't want any scoldeds about it because my Mom already took care of that,OK?
Today we had visitors and one of them held the door open and I thought he wanted me to go outside, so I did! It wasn't my fenced in backyard, but the driveway side, so I just thought I would run a little. I ran up the block as fast as I could go, and my Mom called me, so I turned around and runned back, but I Couldn't Stop when I got to her, so I kept going. It was sooo much fun. So Mom stayed after me, but I keep on running at a high speed.
I met some peoples, and a very little dog, but I didn't stop to talk, I kept right on going. Then I crost the street, and ran back toward home, and there was Mom and she called me, so I hurried to her. We talked about how furry dangerous this is with cars and peoples around, but it is also furry much fun and feels good on the legs.
I heard her telling our visitors that I am just a young dog and need some good exercise, not just the walkies we do, so she SAID to them she didn't blame me for wanted to get a good run. But she made me promise not to do it again and she would try to find a place where I can run LOOSE. Like the Scoddish Beagles!
Whooo, so it was bad for me to do, but then why does it feel sooo good!
Kisses,
Stella

3.03.2009

Hey, its me, its Ali Z. Both my Mom and I almost forgot what day it was today. Huffle expects my post today but my Mom told me her family is travelling and she is home with her grandpa and grandma. That sounds nice to me, but she is not on-line until they get back.

After Stella and my big battle a few weeks ago, we have sort of been quiet with each other. But I am coming downstairs, looking up my Mom, seeing what there is to see. I am still a little nervous about Stella, but not as much as I was. I have my house route all figured out to get around Stella, and Stella, is not so smart about things, I don't think. I believe I could out think her almost anytime.

So maybe things will be alright pretty soon. Princess Eva's Mom betted me and Stella would be snuggled up together and I think that is a dream,(or maybe a nightmare!) but who knows? I'm just saying things are better.

I am an indoor cat, I don't ever go outside, oh, maybe sometimes my Mom takes me out on the porch on a nice Summer evening, but that is it. So I don't know much about what goes on in the world. So I really don't have much to say in a blog.

My Mom tells me some of the news and said a little dog named Bogart lost his Dad to illness. That is very sad to hear and I wish the best for him and his Mom.

So I send good wishes to everybody and meows to the kitties.

Meow,
Ali Z
